Hi. I just found your forum and hope someone can help. I inherited a B1700 and it runs great when you first start it. After about 15 minutes, it sarts to lose power and rpm. It will eventually die if I don't turn it off. I changed the fuel filter, added fuel conditioner, and it still does it. If I wait a couple of hours, it will start up normal and do it all again after a while.

Sounds like a blocked vent on the fuel cap, or something blocking the fuel pickup in the tank. When it starts to act up, pop the fuel cap & see if it improves. If not, check for foreign material in the tank.... like algae.

There may be a screen inside the tank right on top og the fuel cock, (shutoff vavle).

There could be a small hole in the fuel line, or a loose connection and it is sucking air.

Aside from taking the cap off to see if it picks up you might also wait for it to die on it's own and then take the fuel line loose at the injector pump and see if you have fuel there, if not then the problem is between the pump and tank,if you have fuel then it is from the pump to the injectors, I am betting before the pump though.

Best Regards
