My trusty old B1700 with 1800 hours has been very good to me. It seems that, out of the blue, the steering turns hard left (very easily) and it's very difficult to turn right. I did some troubleshooting. Hydraulic fluid is within range. To eliminate linkage, I disconnected the drag link. Still, pulls hard left. From my research, sounds like it could be the power steering pump? Any thoughts or suggestions for continued TS'ing?

Yes if you disconnected the drag link and you have hard steering you have a controller issue (steering box).
Parts for this steering unit are hard to get.
But you need to rebuild it.

Do you have the WSM (aka service manual), if not, just ask.
I don't know how in depth they get on rebuilding the control unit but maybe some info for you.

Thanks. I don't but I'll look for one. I have the "Assembly Instructions" pamphlet but that does not help much in this case. I have to say, there's not a whole lot on the internet about this machine. Likely due to it's age.
