They hunted one down at the dealership, but said my old one had to be destroyed before sending the new engine due to EPA requirements.
Someone in that chain is missing a link.
You only need to do that for emissions controlled engines and warranty purposes.
Yours is neither.

There is an electronic controlled version of the D902, that would need the donor block destroyed ONLY if it was warranty replacement.

I can only imagine how much they want to stick you for that.
I'm going to guess in the $10K range.
You would be better off selling the BX25D outright and buying a new tractor.

Why don't you rebuild what you have, a heck of a lot cheaper.

I wish I could but no skill set for engine rebuilding! Thank you so much for your posts, and for your time. A new tractor with my attachments, cab and hoe plus many more brings that price to around 45,000.00 so a new tractor is out of the question.

Have a good diesel shop in your area? See what they would charge for a rebuild.
