Anyone know of a way to tighten the tension on the 3 point lever to keep it in one position. There is no extrenal friction plate to adjust on the lever like most other levers on other equipment have it just goes directly to the rod which goes into the top housing of the tranny diff cover.

Mine keeps dropping when I am operating it, wouldn't be an issue if it weren't for the fact I have a snowblower on the back and I find that I am always picking it off the ground when the lever drops to the lower position constantly, I have a bungee holding it in the up position when doing loader operations or driving around.

I am in the same boat with my B2150. Here is a link to my question and the responses I got. I haven't chased it any further.

Does anyone have ideas on this problem? I am about to tear into the control valve. There is nothing external and it looks like neutral is controlled by return springs on the spool by the spool drive lever. Any advice before I tear into it, please let me know. Otherwise, I will follow the manual and begin to tear it down. Attached are some of the pages that apply.

I am not familiar with your tractor, but I once fixed the exact same problem (floppy lever) on an old piece of wood working equipment.
I built a bracket that allowed me to mount two springs opposed to each other, one pulling the lever forward & one pulling back.... the lever stayed in the center position until you moved it & the springs allowed it to move as needed, then returned it to the center. I think I used throttle return springs.

my B2150 is stiff so no real help for you, other than to say my lever pushes out on the metal guides for the control lever which may increase the lever tension to help keep it from moving.

Bulldog, if I understand what you are saying, your lever doesn't come back to a neutral point, it just stays where you put it because of resistance on the metal guides. I think that is a solution, but based on the description in the manual, I don't think that is the way it is supposed to work. I may go to the dealer tomorrow and see if I can find a B1750 or B2150 to try. Come to think of it, my brother in MO has my Dad's B1750, he can tell me how it works!! Why didn't I think of that sooner.

For anyone interested, I put the two belvil spring washers on my lift handle this morning and it solved the problem. The handle stays where you put it.

Thought I had posted up since I started the thread, All I did was tighten the nut on the lever where it mounts to the shaft and it solved my problem. I did have to tighten it pretty hard, if it gets loose again I think I will be in need of the washers next time.
