There is a lock nut that keeps them from loosening and falling apart.

At the tractor end you need to get the original pins and keeper pins.
You can pop the pins out to help unhook or hook up an implement.

The orange bars near the hitch are not stock as far as I know. What purpose do they serve?

PS got your e-mail address so will send you information soon.

I seen those lock nuts I will make sure I tighten them after everything is adjusted

At one time it had a belly mower and the orange bars look cut like they were part of the mount
system for the belly mower and someone just sawed the mounts into and left the mount

thanks for the email info no rush and I appreciate it

Well I have been looking for a box blade and they were all way expensive even for a used one
but today I may have hit the jackpot I found one for about 75% less than all the others I have
found. And it looks to be in great shape here is a photo it is a 4ft model hopefully the deal happens
tomorrow. Here is a picture

Well I went shopping today and brought the box blade home it was too good to pass up.
It looks to have been used once at most. Here are some more pics

Picked up another piece of equipment today for the Kubota and got to try it out today along with
the box blade. The tractor was a champ and I couldn't believe how good it pulled there's allot of
spunk in them two cylinders. Here is what I picked up today.

I finally picked up a blade today, ended up buying a new one made by Behrens. Tried it out for
2 and a half hours today worked great.

Worked on the finish mower today sharpened the blades and got it ready for a coat of primer to prevent
rust underneath. I'll apply that tomorrow and then grease it up and get it ready for mowing on Friday.
See what this little Kubota will do with a mower can't wait!

fought with the pto shaft for the finish mower all morning trying to get it on the tractor finally got it I think
it was dirty inside the snap lock. Then the mower didn't turn when engaging the pto just the gearbox. I pulled the cover and the tension spring was off and the belt reinstalled and then it worked discovered that I probably have a bad bearing due to the noise like a noisy gear drive louder than the tractor but mowed
good. I pumped it full of grease and topped off the gear box with 90w gear oil. The dealer test run it for me
before I bought it and it was quiet but of course the belt was off so that would be why. Wish I would have
known that but then again I got a really good deal so I can afford to fix it at 550 verses 2500 for a new one
like it.

Well I determined the center spindle bearings were bad and had the spindle pressed out
and the bearings were full of poly twine and in really bad shape. I went today and picked
up a 20 ton press so I could get this thing back to work I tried to take it back by where
they pressed it out for me but couldn't get a chance to get off work to go by there, so
I just figured I needed a press anyway so I picked one up. I got it assembled this afternoon
ready for tomorrow. Here are some pictures of how badly the previous owner had neglected it
and the condition it was in. Hopefully I can get it back in shape.

Well I have been on long hours since August so I just now got some time
to do anything those 87.5 hour weeks were rough. I am about to order
parts to rebuild the other two spindles.

How did I miss this?! Dave, you have a cool tractor for sure. I have the same press, seldom used, but really gets the job done when needed.

Thanks Matt I am really liking the tractor so far it is a tough little guy. And the press is the best
tool I have invested in just used it to press out and in some Polaris wheel bearings worked
great.

Thanks I am glad someone likes reading about it thought I might be boring everyone
to death. I like reading others post and stories as soon as I get some parts I will be
back to work on the mower for it.

Well I have been shopping the local ads and calling around and I found a mower yesterday and bought it
today. It was the best one I found for the price and don't appear to be very old with no rust through and
most of the original paint. It is a Frontier by Woods GM1060R I seen another L185 on this forum was running the same mower. I also bought it because my grass is not very tall and eventually I might go to
a bigger tractor and I didn't want to have to find another mower. I figured this one would work for
most all tractors and places I needed to mow. Now I'm just having problems finding 1 bottom breaking
plows local. They are all 2,3 and larger. Found one so far about 90 miles away and at a dealer so top dollar
and I think I can find one cheaper but some dealers have deals like the mower I bought today was cheaper and nicer than anything online I found for sale.

The only problem with that mower is it needs painted orange.

I got in the other bearings and seals for the mower the last few days so hopefully I
can get started on it and have it ready for spring.

Got back to work on the mower the last two weeks trying to get ready for mowing
season. I was able to get the two outer browning bushings and pulleys removed
the center I had already done last fall. Hopefully this weekend I can get my old bearings
pressed off and the new ones installed and the new seals and reassemble everything.
