In that last picture it's kinda hard to tell but is your optic touching the rear sight preventing it from standing up all the way u might try moving your optic foward a notch

I feel reasonably sure that the measurements are somewhere in the ballpark. From the top of the rail to the center of the large aperture is 1.554 inch while yours is 1.35 inch. That's going the wrong way.

From the center of the bore to the top of the depressed front post is 2.54 inch. your measurement was 2.43. I have no idea what rear site it had on it as i bought it used and then had it customized. They should have given me the old rear site but I cannot find it.
I checked to see if the optic was keeping the rear site from standing all the way up and it's not.

I am taking my rifle back to the shop where I bought it.
He told me that he had bore sighted it. I should have
been able to get on the target if so. I'll let you all know
how this turns out.

I have found that there are far to many people that THINK they know how to work on an AR. You need to find a good one, the shop where you had it didn't do it correctly and sights are easy. I would give them one chance to fix their screw ups.

Please do let me know how it turns out.:)

I don't know what a ton of bucks is exactly :D. I have a few scopes that cost well over a grand.

I spend some time of gun forums and the Vortex scopes are well liked, made well for an import, some are priced low and have a good warranty if you do have a problem. I personally don't own one.

Here's their website;

I have had a good luck buying from Primary Arms and they have a sale going on I hear.

Here's their scopes for sale priced low to high. Have a look at the Vortex.

The weapons store said they could find nothing wrong with my
sights other than they were set wrong. They used a laser to set
both my iron sights and also my red dot and the red dot sets
right on top of my site post. They also stated if I continued to
have troubles, bring it back and they would sight it for me. worst
come to worst we could also find sights more compatible for me.
Stated that it looked like it was sighted for the right hand post
protector. That's hard for me to believe but I imagine for right
now I need to swallow it and move on, that is at least until I know
better. I don't supose I could ask more of a weapons store.
