Can't 'McFarlane's ' answer those questions ?

curious as to why 2 'lids' ? I assume they can be independently controlled ?

Have you ever asked a salesman a straight question and received a straight answer? Nobody stocks one that I can find in Ontario.

FYI the lids are linked hydraulically so you can grab odd shaped items better than with single lid designs.

I'm no help, but the solid back could be a blessing or a curse. Torn on that.
Dual lid FTW though!

I don't have a Landpride grapple, but have double lid that looks just like the picture that I could get some dimensions off of for comparison if you are going to get one built.

I'm guessing it's a 3" diameter round tube up top and a 3" square on bottom. There's another tube up front on the forks which looks like 2".
The fork base looks like 4" tall and the fork verticals look like 6" wide and 1/2" thick. It's hard to tell dimensions from photos on the internet. I know the fork base is 31.5" long and the grapple opens 39.5" wide. I've read somewhere they use something like an A514 steel for the forks. I want to go with AR400 and 3/8" on the forks to save weight.

I have the EA version of that grapple. If you want measurements of those, let me know. It may or may not help you, but I figured I would offer.
