Think I've decided to go L2501 over the B2650 for the additional weight, slightly larger frame and tires and slightly improved loader specs.(mainly the 9 of so inches of additional lift height)

I have no need for a mid pto. I have to stay in lower hp engines to avoid dpf bs.

Wanting to show you guys what I intend to order, to make sure I'm not overlooking something.

2018 L2501 ROPS hst
FEL SSQA 54 inch bucket
Filled R4's
Dual rear remotes
LP 3rd function
LP grapple
LP land plane
LP post hole digger

May consider a LP slit seeder as well, just to finance it all together.

Use is as follows. We bought a home on 10 acres last year. Has 3 acres in pasture now, 1 to 2 more I intend to fence off to make more room for 2 horses.

There's about 2-3 acres that's woods. Completely choked with briar bushes etc amongst the mature trees. I want to use the FEL (with a tooth bar) to remove the thick crap while leaving the mature trees.

This is why I want the heavier L as opposed to the B2650.

I also have around 1000-1250 feet of gravel between 2 driveways to maintain. I'm leaning toward the land plane over a box blade for that.

Additionally need to be able to seed pasture and certain areas of my lawn.

I mow 4 acres of lawn with a Scag Tiger Cat 61 inch and have zero intention of using the tractor for mowing. Will never need a snowblower, so I think a mid pto would be useless to me.

Any thoughts on my thinking here? Anything I'm missing? Thanks guys.

I just bought a L2501 and had 5 hours on it blowing snow mostly. I made the same choice as you did over the B2650 for the same basic reasons. Mine came with a 66” bucket with R4 tires to cover the track, and the snowblower is a 64”. It handles 22” of wet snow with no problems so you’re not likely to run out of power. I can lug it down but I have to push it surprisingly hard to do it.
You should be well satisfied.
I really can’t comment on your attachment choices as my needs are different. I have a box blade, forks, a chipper, and a tooth bar on the way, all unused so far. Gotta wait for the snow to melt and things to dry up a bit.
Best of luck with your new tractor!

You may want to consider a good trailer if you don't have one. A year later and now I'm like man I should have got a trailer when I bought the tractor, mower, boxblade.

:) Welcome to OTT Hydro. You came to the right place to get answers.

I agree with the L. When I went to buy I walked in thinking about a B but the dealer stated that I wouldn't be happy with it as I needed a heavier tractor and would be back to trade up. So I took his advice and I am sure glad that I did.

I do not see a bush hog listed? How do you plan of taking care of your pasture?

Thanks. I'm considering a bush hog.

As for the grapple which ea unit do you all recommend for cleaning up brush.

Trying to make sure I'm ordering the correct grapple.

If the main concern is cleaning out under brush in a few acres of woods, while leaving the mature trees, and maybe moving and placing large rock, do I need a claw or a root grapple?

Dealer is pricing me an sg0660 from land Pride. I may switch to an EA unit, but I would still have same question. Thanks.

If you get snow get the snow bucket. Ours moves a lot of snow.
do you harrow?

Why not a post pounder? (then you won't have to set the posts)

I have a 2501DT and love it. Looking at your list if you don't buy 48" pallet forks you are crazy.

I have a 54” bucket on my B2650. I feel the 2501 could handle a larger bucket with out a doubt. But it’s all up to you.

I would go with and ea grapple over the landpride. Mine was actually cheaper. And I feel they are better quality. I have the ea wicked root 50” bucket style single lid. But a 2501 may be able to handle a larger one.

I prefer bucket style over the root rake for being able to get underneath objects. Root rake more or less pinches things. A bucket style can get under and lift. The land pride has smooth teeth which can allow things to slide to my knowledge. Ea has jagged edges that dig into things.
