My BX2200 has a removable screen on the fan side of the radiator. The fan pulls air through the radiator from the operator’s side.

So what is the purpose of the removable screen on the fan side of the radiator?

Seems like this can only hurt and never help.

What am I missing?

edit: unless I remember wrong, which is likely the case now that I think about it. Have to take another look now. Bet I am full of BS re this question…red face…

My BX24 has screen that pulls out from the front of the radiator (side facing the operator).

Henro, you have your directions mixed up. The screen is in front of the radiator and on the operator's side of the tractor. The engine is installed backward so to speak. The air is pulled from the operator's station to the engine and out the sides of the engine compartment.

My TG1860 and BX2380 both have these screens (as I am sure most of you do).
When I am mowing (with either) the screen catches dandelion fluff sucked up from below and prevents most of it from ending up imbedding itself in the radiator.

like I tried to say in my edit, my mind was twisted when I posted the question…I am sure there was no reason to ask the question now that I think about it.

My apologies.

It is OK.. We know that you are getting old and senility is starting to settle in. I can remember when you were a youngster having just bought your first tractor! I kind of miss some of those older guys that just faded away. There was one fellow named Andy from PA or OH that used to frequent the old forum, and then one day he was gone. I always wondered why.

I have to keep changing my name to keep a step ahead of the Shadow. Last week I was being tracked by the Invisible Man.
