Looking to add a finish mower to my BX implements., next week. Came across a Land pride FDR1572 the driver said he didn't like the way his tractor operated with it. A little on the heavier end of BX's lifting range when needed. I thank the BX will Tow and power a 4-5 inch maintenance cut. It'll be great for getting under over hanging tree boughs, back in length.
Kubota's manual suggestion is 60" for BX, but this earlier mower is built with heavier field use in mind, poor example.
Anyone else cut with a PTO mower with it's own suspension/ gauge wheels?

My main mower is a Woods RD7200 with four gauge wheels. Works great. If you like your little tractor keep the mower on the ground.

Just off loaded the Land pride FDR1572 FM into the BX's service container and it's constructed like a tank. I can understand a little better what TheoldHokie was referring to about the BX lifting the 72 inch especially with the like floating 3-point system it uses. I look forward to towing/cutting with it next spring. When spined up to 540, it didn't appear to have any noticeable vibrations, sure sounded like a Hover craft.

Nice! But what's the "BX's service container"? And good job on buying the mower now rather than next spring when cost goes up and availability goes down. It's not as easy to spend money on something when it won't be needed for six months, but it's the smart move.

The BX service container is a little play on words, could be called, a BX solar service container. Its where I can drive my BX and anything else into a twenty-foot shipping container and do any maintenance and inspection/ setup that takes a little time and space out of the way, it's heated with a diesel heater (with detector). In the nose I installed some metal shelving up front. With a solar power controller center, three 300-watt panels on top and 420 AH Lithium batteries inside. And for though long winter months with low solar valves, I installed external connector for RV pedestal power if needed.
See it pays to have little tractor that could. ;)
Picked up a custom heavy shipping tarp on CL for BX just before I pick up seaworthy container. Sorry got carried away.

That's very cool and makes sense now. Don't be shy about sharing some photos of that set up. (y)

Here's a couple pictures of the FDR1572 Land Pride mower after transferring from trailer to service container, just a little patina mainly from stepping points. A little rust eater/ converter and auto clear coat. also a couple pictures of the early days of setting up container LP_FDR1572_Finish-Mower (3).jpg LP_FDR1572_Finish-Mower (2).jpg Solar_Container (2).jpg Solar_Container (4).jpg
