i have a brand new L4701 with the LA765 loader. the front brush guard is really subpar, when grappling brush and logs, its wide open and allows branches to punch holes in the front of my tractor

Anyone know of an aftermarket guard to prevent this?

Add some expanded metal screening.

I looked around and was never able to find an aftermarket replacement.

I ended up doing as Flip pointed out. I should take a recent picture of it because you can see it has absorbed lots of hits.

Looks really good and very practical too. Something I must do, as I'm in the middle of a forests and when pushing up piles of branches, I'm sure it'll be just a matter of time before a stray limb pokes a hole in my radiator/grill assembly. So how did you guys fix this - mig or stick welder?

In my case, I MIG welded in the 5 flats and then the expanded metal to the back.

The additional horizontal bars look great, would certainly add strenght and help support the expanded metal. Another good mod from you!

Another option here, would require more time and material...I already lost my grill and headlights to a branch while grappling, so no big loss to block the headlights. I was also able to add two grab hooks and d-ring while I had the grill off.

I am currently fabricating one in my shop. It is different than most that I see but is a very clean look and very stout. Mine is fabricated and then bolted on. I'll try and post my work on YouTube and add a link once completed. Until then...here's a pic!

That's a rugged guard and slick that it's removable.

That's a great how to video. Makes me wish I had the fabrication skills and tools to do the same to my LX grill.

HAHA! I am sure you could have something similar made right in your neck of the woods for a reasonable price. Thanks for the kinds words.
