Hi all I have a 94 b7100 hst. I am experiencing continued travel either forward or backward, depending on direction of travel before letting off the pedal. I ve heard it can be adjusted but am unsure how. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Dylan

Dylan... the first thing I would do is go to the Messiicks site and pull down the blowup of the forward and reverse parts. The two areas I'd focus on would be where the F/R pedal. actuates the transmission ... take a peek at tours and possibly try lubricating it first. Also look to see if there is a pedal damper.... if so clean and lube that.

My first Kubota was a 7100... that is one beast of a tractor... keep us posted...

Does the hydro pedal return to center once you remove your foot? Probably not.

Recently, the pedal return spring on my 1993 B1750 (similar tractor) failed due to vibration induced metal fatigue. Without the spring, the pedal will remain in the position that it was last in after removal of foot for some time.

This failure is not uncommon after 25+ years.

Kubota changed the spring to a so-called "hose spring" sometime in the 1990s. The "hose spring" has a piece of split rubber hose inside the spring to dampen the oscillations, greatly reducing or eliminating the metal fatigue induced failure mode.

Both old design and new design springs are available from Kubota. If you buy a new spring from Kubota, be certain to get the later design "hose spring" (costs about twice as much) or insert a short piece of 3/8" fuel line hose inside the regular spring before installation.

You may also want to inspect the damper and replace it if indicated.

Couple of the most common issues on these models is the damper will go bad and stick or the neutral holder will get messed up with debris or parts failure.

Also lube the pedal pivot point.
