Howdy guys and gals I have a L3830 and its time for the 800 hour valve adjustment well I'm a little over 800 hours but was wanting to know has anyone done this themselves. I'm not sure if I should tackle this myself or pay to have it done whats your suggestion ?

If that is the unit in the avatar, there may be one little thing to get in your way; that is the loader. They can block access to the inspection port on the bell housing (around the flywheel) that gives you the Top-Dead-Center mark where you start the adjustment procedure.

Daniel,

Save yourself some $$, DIY...it's quite simple actually. There are excellent instructions on how to adjust the valves that don't require access to the viewing window here at OTT...search "valve adjustment". You can turn the engine over with a screwdriver by removing the starter. Give it try.

Good luck!

Chris
