Hi;
Just purchased a 4150 , 3900hrs, reasonable shape. Everything works fine except the shuttle shift, forward only. When you shift into forward, there is initally a slow engagement, with a fairly abrupt full engagement. From a cold start it sometimes takes 2 or 3 attempts shifting between forward and reverse to get full engagement in forward. It seems to improve as it warms up, reverse is smooth and positive every time, forward is slow and abrupt every time. Thoughts?? Adjustments??
Thanks Dave

Probably a little late to help, but I had the EXACT same problem on my m6800. Vic is telling you right. It's out of adjustment. On my tractor, there was a little plate with 2 bolts down below the shuttle shift lever on the side of the tractor. Yours may be totally different, but I finally figured out that if I removed the 2 retaining bolts on that plate, it would spin around on threads on the linkage and allowed the lever to push in the actuator deeper and the problem was instantly solved. But I can honestly sympathize with you. That drove me CRAZY for a very long time. I kept asking people at dealerships and they would tell me that it probably needed adjustment but they kept telling me that it was deep down under the floor plate. So one day I got mad enough that I found it on my own. I wish I had known about this forum back then.
