3rd function buttons not working properly

We added the Land Pride 3rd function valve kit to our L3130 tractor for grapple use. The buttons on the joystick work, but often have to press hard or multiple times to get it to operate. Any ideas of the cause or fix?

1) bad buttons(lousy quality)
or
2) poor install(button not seated nice in housing)

Can you hear the solenoids click every time you you push a button? If not then it has to be the buttons. Take the handle apart and verify that there is nothing behind the buttons obstructing the electrical contacts. Otherwise, you may need to verify that the wiring is all good.

Get a can of electrical contact cleaner and hose down the buttons. There's probably just some trash or corrosion in there.

If it is the actual "Land Pride" kit and handle, I went through two handles because of the switches and ended up going to the summit handle after the second LP failure.

The switches on the LP are a way over-complicated design that fail easily.

Verify the handle mounting screws have not cut into the wires coming out of the handle

checked online, $34 switch from one dealer !
Several at digikey for <$10, but would need to see switch for ID/partnum
