The spindles that the steering knuckle and tie rod ends connect to have slop at the knuckle and at the bottom. The only bearing on that spindle is at the bottom. When I took it apart I was expe ring to find a bad bearing or parts with excessive wear, I didnt find either. What keeps that spindle tight in that tube it runs through?

I just ran across your post from 2 years ago that asked the designation of your tractor.
You asked if it was a DT GST or MT
There is no MT.
Your designation is F so a L3650F.
It's a 2WD manual shuttle.
Not many of those out there, most are models are 4wd.

The thrust bearing at the bottom does not hold the spindle solid, it's just a pivot point bearing, the bushings in the tube hold the spindle solid.

The bushings and / or shaft are probably worn.
Replace the bushings and upper and lower seals.
Grease well!
