Found this on FB. Kind of a neat idea for safely scraping blacktop driveways. That old skidder/loader tire can withstand lots of abuse. Thought I would share, never know when it may spawn a useful idea for someone.

That's neat for sure but I feel sorry for the guy who had to cut that tire up! It almost looks like the section of tire is made that way though rather than cut from a used loader tire. I can't see any plies and the cut is extremely clean and smooth. Aren't there some drinkers for cattle that look like a used loader tire but are molded that way.

Back in the early '90s I had to drill two 8" holes per tire (for a large chain to pass through) in a bunch of much larger tires that were to be used for dock fenders for container ships and the like on Oahu. One of the worst jobs I can remember that took days to complete despite going through numerous cans of LPS or some such to lubricate the hole saw. It was brutal to be honest, so thanks for dredging that memory up! 😂

Years ago I have seen those three point ones on many a dairy farm to scrape manure out of alley ways and loafing barns. Now days most are on the front of skid loaders. Have a buddy that uses one on his skid steer to push snow if its not too deep. He says it works perfect on rock drive ways. They are also building them out of old tracks off farm tractors. You get west of me in cattle country and there are lots of old loader and mining truck tires used for water tanks for cattle.

This type of tire scraper is used for livestock barns, dairy operations and the like.. Also a tire section on a FEL to work with the 3pt attachment.. Depending on your weather and location I think it would work for snow, but would be quickly overwhelmed by the weather in my part of the north..
