I bought a used 2846A back in the spring. It was in the barn until recently.
I brought it out to do maintenance and mount on GR2120. Prior to, I took the GR out to the barn, plugged in the electric discharge rotate connector. It worked, I was happy.

After cleanup, maintenance and install I plugged in the connector and tried it out again. went left, back to the right and then it just quit! Checked what I could and found no problems. I have a replacement motor unit on the way.

BUT If I had the parts would switch it over to manual crank for rotation. I can't imagine it would be difficult. Justt need parts or part numbers.

Suggestion on where to shop?

Don't know what a 2846A is, but did you check for a blown fuse in whatever circuit the electric discharge?

Get your test light out and check to make sure you have battery and ground at the control when you are trying to activate the chute. Use a test lamp with a very sharp pointed tip to pierce thru the insulation. That should be a very easy thing to trouble shoot to find where your problem is. Please let us know what you find.

No real good news on chute rotator. Just more questions.

In the beginning, as described tested chute rotation after snowblower was installed. Went one direction then the other once and STOPPED. No obvious reason. FWIW included picture of wiring "under the hood" Checked there no problems found

Cleaned contacts and tried again, no change. Used test light in photo, with ignition on, made contact with the cable connector light worked with switch in both directions. If the light bulb worked why not the motor?

I found a used motor, plugged it in same thing NOTHING. Put it aside to do other things. Today I connected a ground wire from chassis to motor casting.

Shocked the used motor rotates one direction, not the other. Original motor same situation, nothing happens.

Thinking problem might be in the toggle switch. Will check into that. But still the question is why the test light works both direction but not the motor???

Have you eliminated the controls as the source of the problem? that's where I'm going next. Any experience to share?
