I think either tractor will do for my purposes of gravel driveway maintenance and snow removal.

both tractors are same price. I like the l4701 cause it’s newer, looks to be in better shape, has a few more attachments I need, and still has the warranty. But I also like the Mx5100 cause it’s pre-emissions, beefier, and has a turbo (I’m at 5500’ in the high desert). But it looks like it’s got more wear and tear, no warranty left, and about 80 more hours.

What would you do?

Of all your points, the turbo is probably the key one. But you are only talking about jobs that are traction limited, not power limited. If you were running PTO implements, or pulling a mower uphill or the like, power would matter, and therefore altitude would matter. But the L4701 is kind of overpowered anyway for its size, losing a few ponies won't hurt that much. And newer machines are nicer. I don't personally worry about emissions, it's the way things are now. Other people have different views.

Driveway maintenance and snow removal don't depend on loader capacity -- any other tasks where that might matter? That's one significant difference between the 4701 and the MX.

You didn’t mention transmissions. Depending on what all you’re doing that can make a significant difference. For gravel driveway maintenance and snow removal, personally I’d take a HST over gear.
