Hi All,

I am a brand new tractor owner and I just recently purchased a 2005 Kubota B2910. I was curious to know a few items. What is the proper rpm to run and operate in low and medium gears? I have been staying between 1600 and 2000 and that seems to do the trick however, when I try to go to High gear the tractor wants to bog down and cut off unless I crank rpm way up. Either I have an issue or I am not doing something correct. Thoughts?

For instance my driveway is a half a mile long and is paved. I was in flat ground, no load and it seemed like I needed to crank rpm way up to be in high gear.

Check your owner's manual for recommended engine speed. Most power is usually produced at the PTO throttle setting. High gear is not normally used for actual work, it's more often used for getting from one place to another. I rarely use high gear.
