it has quite a bit of blowby and smokes a bit also. It was blowing pretty good out of the crankcase vent tube while running.
they had a mountain dew bottle tie wrapped to the tube to contain the mess
I've owned diesel trucks in the past, and know how a diesel should run for the most part....
had a beer can for the overflow on the radiator too...
Both front tires are bald.
The front driveshaft has a metal tube around it that was loose and flopping all over the place. The driveshaft itself felt a little loose, but I'm not sure how they are supposed to feel either.
4wd did engage, but afterwards we could not get it back into 2wd.
Injector pump is leaking a bit of fuel, and everything around it was really wet.
Missing some indicator lights on dash and driving lights dont work.
a bit of play in steering.
Overall, I think it just wasnt cared for in a very good manner.
Unknown hours. Current owner has had it for about 4 yrs, and said he doesnt remember how many hours were on it when he bought it.
the gauge says 248, but impossible to tell how many times it has turned over.
Current owner used it to tow boats in his business around a paved parking lot area...always used it in 2wd.
It does drive and pto and 3pt work fine.
he is asking 2K.
I offered him 1K and he turned me down so I left.
I dont know how long the engine will run with so much blowby, and I dont know how much it will cost to re ring it.
I do think he would jump at 1500 dollars, but dont know if this tractor should just be avoided at this point?
