I just picked up this tractor to do some work around a small property in Montana. I am new to the tractor world and am hoping to pick the brains of those who have been in this world awhile.

I have a few books and am not able to find the specs on the loader. It has an L2773 Loader according to the owner's manual. Specially looking to know what this thing can lift. We need to move hay around the property and would love to know what it can handle before attempting.

Along with the documentation is a work order from Dukes Engineering standards. The relief valve was replaced with ECO-2893 and some notes about replacing with a type II valve. Not sure how this might affect the specs on the loader capacity.

Much appreciated!
Mike

Welcome aboard. Your first lesson for today is to learn the proper spelling of Kubota. Some guy, calls himself the @North Idaho Wolfman (moderator), will be along shortly to test you on that. Seems to be a sore spot with him.🙂

Are we talking round bales, or ? There is a site Tractordata that has info on many tractors. It has errors at times, but is still a useful site. Your first challenge is a lifting device, forks or bale spear. I don't think there's a quick attach adapter for that model, and don't even think about those forks that clamp onto the bucket.

The next issue is lifting capacity. If you cobble up a spear, you might be able to move a round bale on level ground from point A to point B. But you won't, I'm pretty sure, be able to lift it high enough to load a trailer. And at that, you'd need plenty (700-1,000# ?) of ballast on the 3 pt hitch. That's for safety and to take some of the load off the front axle.

Google is your friend:

Loader Manual

EDIT> I am not familiar with the Type II terminology but pressure relief vslves are generally divided into two types.
  1. DIRECT ACTING - simple poppet with spring
  2. PILOT OPERATED - poppet valve that acts as pilot for main relief valve
DIrect acting valves have fast response but crack well below actual reluef pressure wasting energy

Pilot operated valves have slower respons but crack very close to full relief pressure

Thank you! I fixed my typo before the wolfman could see it.

We are getting bale bundles which are right at about 1200 pounds, I finally did find the loader info on tractor data and its probably not going to lift them but guess we will see how it does. I do have a neighbor who has skid steer and will be available this year's delivery.

I ordered forks and attachable spears from titan attachments. This tractor does have a quick attach so at some point we will upgrade to a bigger tractor or skid steer and these investments will transfer. The tractor does have weights on the wheels and pretty sure the tires have fluid. I am also digging a trench for a water line, so the backhoe will provide some counter weight.

Thanks for the tips.

Yes, I did try to google it, but I was searching for information on the tractor L295DT. I did not know that the loader would be the right spot to check for capacity.

I have learned quite a bit in the few days that I have had the tractor.
