12v aux Power plug

I have a 6 year old BX2680. I got a pull behind sprayer and decided to use the 12v aux plug in the compartment on the left rear fender. It says Marinco on the cover and is a twist lock type plug. I called 2 dealers, both said the plug was available but only with a new socket and pigtail. I could use a regular push in lighter plug adapter but those things don't work and play well with vibration.

Does anyone know the part number for the plug only. Kubota or Marinco will be great.

I found some on amazon. there appears to be several different ones . The plugs APPEAR to be the same. Of course looks can be deceiving. They have a 12VPG, 12VPG.OEM, 12VPGRV and a 12VPG Seal Llnk 174.

You could take a best guess. Many of the vendors offer free returns.

If they are both Marinco, it will probably be right.

Have any pictures of the plug on your tractor? Is it OEM or aftermarket?

The socket is OEM. It was there when I bought the tractor new. It looks like a standard socket for an accessory plug. It has a rubber cover that says Marinco. Open the cover and it has <loose lock> and Twist to Unlock molded into the housing. A regular lighter/accessory plug works in the socket, but is very loose. Loose connections=resistance. Resistance=heat. Sometimes enough heat to melt plastic.

I ordered a Marinco plug from Amazon. $12 is much better than $57 for a whole assembly from Kubota.
I will report back if the plug is a good tight fit.

Interesting... On my five year-old BX2380 (Same chassis as 2680) the socket in the "glove box" is a standard automotive accessory outlet (formerly called a Cigarette lighter).

I looked at the parts diagram for his model and it’s a regular Marinco cigarette lighter female plug. Thats why I requested a picture as I’m not sure the twist lock and unlock he states.

Yep, it looks very similar to an old style lighter plug. It has a small contact strip, in the bottom, for the positive, but no spring catch for a lighter. Most new vehicles have this style accessory socket My Toyota Tundra has a lighter, with the standard heat expand release lighter connector in the bottom of the socket. The Tundra accessory plugs, are not designed for lighters. They are similar to the Kubota with a flat contact for the positive connection on an accessory plug. Lighter elements will not work in those type sockets. Well, they MAY work, if you physically hold the lighter element in and stuff does not short out.

Yeah. Mine says Marinco on the cover, but it's just an old-fashioned cigarette lighter socket.
