I have a 07 L3940. I changed the fuel filter and forgot to open the fuel on switch when I started the tractor. I know rookie mistake, I should’ve known better. I’ve searched several threads and I’ve open the pitcock and loosened the injector lines. I’ve even sprayed some starting fluid, but can’t get it to start. I’ve seen several posts about the decompression lever, but can’t find one (this model may not have one???). I’m a amateur mechanic so I need some help from somebody that has some knowledge about this engine.

Gabe, the use of starting fluid can be the ruination of a good engine. You spray in the area of the air intake, get on an turn the key and the engine sucks the highly combustible spray into 1 or 2 cylinders and you may end up with a bent rod, or piston/ring damage.

Turn the fuel on by the filter and let the filter fill with fuel. Close the valve. Engine should start.

D2Cat I did as you said, but still get get it to start. It turns over strong (I got a battery charger hooked up) but it isn***8217;t getting fuel to start. The fuel is on and the air vent cock is closed. Did I miss something, maybe?
