    First oil Change

Thanks Guys, I appreciate the input. It is what I really like about this group in that you can always bounce stuff off other people with similar equipment to get good feedback.

    First oil Change

Hey Guys, I have a L3400dt that I bought last fall. If I am reading the owners manual about maintenance, it looks as though no oil change is required until 50 hours of service. I only plowed some snow last winter and didn't put many hours on the little orange tractor. Now that I am mowing with...

    ROPS and what can happen

You guys know it, oh to be 10 foot tall and bullet proof again. But those days are long gone for me too. I agree about those ditches, I was mowing along the road and the grass was pretty tall, and a front wheel slipped over the edge..... whooohooo that was darn scary. Put that baby in SLOW...

What tires to get for my tractor

Hey Kenton, I have an L3400DT with AG tires that seem to work well in snow and mud. I like not having to put chains on, but then I usually try to do things the easy way. I am not too sure if the AG tires would be very good if you had to spend much time on paved roads, but then out where I'm at...

    ROPS and what can happen

Interesting comments for sure. I work around a bunch of young guys who are all 10 foot tall and bullet proof, still really sad about the young man. I had an old Ford tractor and live on really hilly piece of land and the ROPS on the Kubota was one of the big motivating factors to finally break...

    Kubota's for Work or Play?

Well, better late than never. I use my orange tractor for work, or at least that is what I tell the wife. Riding around the pasture mowing grass sippin on a beer as I go, darn tough life!! Then add in some snow moving, wood hauling, driveway repair, stump diggin, the new tractor has certainly...

what diesel additives do you use?

Hey Scott, I think I have the white and grey bottles mixed up, but I use one for winter service to prevent gelling and the other for summer. I do add the recommended amount to each tank of fuel. I have not tried to compare the pulling power with and without the additive. I think probably you...

what diesel additives do you use?

I have used Power Serve in the old Dodge for 15 years. My diesel mechanic swears by it, he say use the white bottle in summer to help with Cetane values and to help keep injectors clean. In the winter I use the grey bottle which lowers gelling temps. I figure I have had really good luck all...

    Plowing snow with the L3010

Hey Brokers, hope you can figure out the right formula for your plowing. I have a L3400dt and it nevers loses power while plowing. I do have trouble sliding sideways with the rear plow when it gets too deep, then I use the FEL. Great machines but a little lite for heavy snow.

    Winter fuel question

Wow, a lot of stuff to think about. Thanks ob1 for your advice, I will go with the Power Service as I want the new little rattler to last a long long time.

    Winter fuel question

Thanks Guys, I kinda thought it was bunk what the salesman told me. I have used Powerserve in the Dodge for years. I think this is a good group, I like reading about all those little diesels rattling around out there.

    Winter fuel question

Hi all, I have a new L 3400 DT tractor that I recently purchased, to replace a really good, but really tired Ford 600. When talking to the sales person I asked about using a fuel anti-gel supplement like I do in my old Dodge with a Cummins 5.9. He said that you don't need a fuel supplement with...
