Changing Blades on Kubota Rotary Mower RCR1860

Thanks one and all for the input. Thus far I have the OEM blades and kit which has the blade bolt, blade spacer, flat washer and nut hex top lock on order. Probably an overkill in parts but it doesn't hurt to have a few extra OEM's parts on hand. I'll keep the old blades and sharpen them for...

Changing Blades on Kubota Rotary Mower RCR1860

Time for new blades. I've seen a lot of threads and local talk to just get under with an angle grinder and sharpen. I also seen a lot of information on why not to get under and sharpen the blades. For Safety reasons. I follow the reason for safety and I will take it to someone the has a...

Front tire jack stand placement GL5240

Thanks Tooljunkie. Found out I didn't have enough muscle in myself and proper tools to break the lugs for the first time. So ended calling the local field service and they tried two times to save the tire but it failed. I ordered two new ones and will look for a rim and have a spare to work...

Front tire jack stand placement GL5240

First flat in 600 hours on the front. Where is a good point to place a jack stand under the front axle while I run the tire and rim to town for a fix?

Thanks Tool Junkie I going to take the front gangs off and take it to welding shop and let them use the blue flame wrench on the axle nuts and see what falls out after that.

Disc harrow unknown origin and parts

This disc harrow has p/n numbers on it: HA 1009 located on the bearing housing H 975 on the axle housing H 6909 on the axle outside coupling. Please look at the photo and the left front gang has failed and pulled some of the supporting structure out of line. If anyone can tell me a place...

12 volt hook up for sprayer 5240

I'm looking at a 12 volt DC sprayer either three point or trailer pull. Where would be a good place on a L 5240 with cab to get 12 volts DC at the rear of the Tractor? I would like to find leads that have an inline switch. I do have some leads hanging where a rear windshield wiper could be...

    L4600 rear wheel weights?

Did you do the two sets to get 210 lbs per side a total of 420 lbs? I've been looking into rim guard which requires 55 gallons per tire would give more than 1,000 lbs. Do I really need that much weight for GL 5240 LA 845? Grapples weigh 500 lbs and box blade with rippers weighs 150 lbs...

Fuel Tank Empty Gauge Still indicating Fuel

Thanks Tooljunkie. I going to take the FEL off today and look for that sending unit and other PM's. In order to get a reset, once grounded, you turn the key on to make the circuit? Is that correct. Thanks tarnstrong and spreuss. Ditto on the losing prime. Losing prime on my IH364 just...

Fuel Tank Empty Gauge Still indicating Fuel

I have a L5240HSTC-3 400 hours and I recently ran out of fuel even though the fuel indicator showed two hash marks up from empty. Wasn't really a problem bleeding the fuel system and getting it started. But, I would like to know if anyone has experienced this problem and could give me some advice?

    Tractor weight and concrete floor

My floor is 4" 3,000 psi concrete wire. I'm thinking about adding the 4 wheel weights and was wondering if I would be approaching having to much weight in my enclosed shop floor for parking and servicing the Kubota? the floor is 30'X40' I would appreciate any thoughts about this or experience...

Accessorize GL 5240 ? Plugged holes back window

I guess the only option is a rear wiper. Don't how much use I would get out of that.

Accessorize GL 5240 ? Plugged holes back window

No do not have a rear wiper. I think there are two sets of wires with connectors hanging down in the cab. Bought the tractor new a couple of years ago. Had the third function valve installed at the dealer for grapple work. There are 4 plugged holes near each other over the drivers right shoulder.

Accessorize GL 5240 ? Plugged holes back window

I have plugged holes in the window of the cab. I also have several wires with connectors hanging down. I would like to know what the possibilities are out there to make use of these connections. I guess the plugged holes may be a mounting area for a light to light the rear of the tractor for...

    Radio install

Thanks for the reply. The install sleeve that goes over the radio is a good quarter inch larger in width. The height is ok. It's very soft and bends easy. It has tabs to bend over the existing factory radio frame once inside and then the is supposed radio slips in tight. I've been looking...

    Log splitter for GL5240 FEL

Thanks all. That was some great input. Guess I'm getting spoiled with having a tractor with a cab and thinking every farm chore can be accomplished by the push of a button on the 3rd function valve. After reading other posts on OTT it makes sense not to run up hours on the 5240 for the task...
