Do you reverse your rear blade for snow ... any issues?

I bought the horse stall mat and cut it into lengths to do this, but then tried the reversed rear blade on it's own 1st and it worked great as is. I drag the reversed blade angled so it makes windrows to my left, it packs and scrapes flat and smooth and leaves the gravel where it belongs for...

    Pat's Easy change quick hitch

I was able to avoid cutting down the PTO driveshaft on my new tiller as the Pat's quick hitch added enough length that I was able to use it at stock length! I've only used them to switch rear attachments a few times so far, but I like them a lot.

Still understanding the implication of different tractor specs

Boost on a diesel engine is based on engine rpm and load, up to the wastegate setting where the excess bleeds off. If low load, then usually no/low boost would be generated, and no/low additional fuel injected to suit. The harder the engine works, the more load on the engine, the more boost is...

Tips and tricks for new B series owners.

Ya, keeping the weight of the rear blade off the ground (by limiting down travel so it's hovering rather than dragging) will keep that weight on the rear tires for traction. If you find the rear blade is digging in too much, you can spin it around so you're dragging it backwards, doesn't bite...

Tips and tricks for new B series owners.

For cold weather starting, hold the key in the indent position to the right to run glow plugs for however long you want (glow plug dash light will stay lit in this position), THEN turn the key all the way right to engage the starter. I got my tractor in the spring and it started pretty well...

Stupid Tractor Newbie question about snow depth

I came here to say to try going in with the snowblower lifted up and push into the snowbank a few feet till you start driving up onto the snow, then back up and try again with the snowblower lowered to the ground, you should be able to make progress this way. Sounds like you found a technique...

Warming HST oil VS engine oil

Sounds like Cold Lake, AB? It's not just a clever name, lol.

A reasonable alternative to 2 grease guns?

Don't forget low temp grease for your snowblower auger zerks.

Warming HST oil VS engine oil

There's different levels of winter, -20C and below is not "start it and use it" conditions.

    Extreme Cold weather operation

I grabbed the winter front that @bird dogger makes, and they've really helped with warm up and holding temp on my B2650 in this current cold snap (-28C, feels like -38 this morning!). Blocking the rad screen would also do the trick, but would still allow the cold air in the side vents, etc so...

Custom Made Winterfront Kits for your Kubota Tractor

Update time: 1st time using the covers it was very windy, and the left side cover actually blew off the tractor (do NOT try and transport on a trailer with these covers on!), so I emailed @bird dogger to discuss, and before I could log back in he'd dreamt up a solution (additional tabs with...

    Back blades & snow - - - lessons learned ?

It's not installed yet, but after reading some similar threads I've picked up a 5x7x3/4" "horse stall mat", which I intend to cut a couple 12" strips off (1x7x3/4") and I'm going to sandwich it between my rear blade and the cutting edge so it hangs down 4" or so, and fold back under the blade...

B2650 front mount snow blower issue with hydraulic

So pulling back on the hydraulic control lever, does not raise the snowblower unit off the ground, unless the engine is idled down? That's a weird one...

B2650 front mount snow blower issue with hydraulic

Assuming you've got hydraulic controls for chute up/down and rotation with a 2nd function switch? These were also available with electronic and manual chute controls, hence the clarification requirement. I was having issues with the chute rotation, pushing the lever to the right seemed to have...

Snow clearing with front mount snowblower...rear box blade or rear angled blade?

I think I'm pretty well settled on a rear blade for snow clearing, but there's a good chance I'll pick up a box blade down the road to deal with driveway maintenance as well. We'll see how much hand shovelling is really required, and reassess after a season of snow clearing with this setup...

Snow clearing with front mount snowblower...rear box blade or rear angled blade?

I don't think the B2650 has rear hydraulics, so I'd be stuck with manual adjustments on a rear blade, correct? The front hydraulics will be used by the front mount snowblower, so unless I'm missing something, I think that's the only option that would work for me.

Snow clearing with front mount snowblower...rear box blade or rear angled blade?

This will be my 1st year snow clearing with a B2650 tractor, and 63" front mount snow blower, I currently have a ballast box mounted on the rear, but I'm thinking I could have another implement back there that would provide the weight I'm after, and also offer additional functionality for snow...

Custom Made Winterfront Kits for your Kubota Tractor

My winter front arrived yesterday! It's really just hovering around freezing at nights here so far but I wasn't able to get my tractor up to 3 bars on the temp guage recently while using it around the yard, so I figured this could come in handly when it actually does get cold. So despite not...

    Are you ready for Winter?

I'm thinking one or the other would be more useful to me than the ballast box that came with the tractor...maybe I'll have to chat with the dealer when it's in getting the new snowblower installed next week. Also, thanks to @bird dogger's winter front, I'm another step closer to ready!

Mowing lawn. Bucket on or off?

This was my 1st year with a B2650 and 72" belly mower, tractor also came with FEL and ballast box. I started out just dropping the bucket off and leaving the FEL arms on, as it drove nicer for mowing and tracked nicer without the extra weight of the bucket on the front end, plus easier to get...
