anyway .. I bled out all the air in the fuel system and installed the new glow plugs ...which ohmed exactly 1 ohm and she did start after a lot of smoke and spinning ...it was very noisy a lot of knock like to much advance in a gas engine (detonation) once it was up to speed sounded normal...

there were no shims under the injection pump ...is that odd? i read somewhere in the manual to keep track of them but found none.

well seems the glow plugs are bad ... they are all homing out at about 4 ohms it was a new set installed 4 months before the rebuild ..may have never been right lol i ordered a set of NGK's for it .....this time i'll check the ohm's before installing them the power to them cycles on at the...

i replaced glow plugs i the process leading up to this rebuild ... but i cannot swear they are working .i'll try the test. is there a way to hot wire them ? just feed them 12 volts etc ? .thanks dave

she doesn't have a decompression knob that i'm aware of ... never used it if it does.

hi folks started a rebuild on my old 92 B7100 back in summer.... which was an adventure. i was having issues with it not starting unless i gave i small shot of ether...yeah i know bad bad ...lol only had to first start of the day and then she would start right up every time. but first start...

there was only 400 ..it got ran hot over the summer last year... didn't require much machine work just bead cleaned and polished... it was rings and guilds...

lol 12 in stock makes sense lol 'thanks i had said in the post 6 valves ...6 seals .... i didn't get the reference to 12 per engine ... i'll probably just get them from kubota to be sure .... i was very surprised i could not just order 4.5x 7mm valve stem seals .... I must be getting old...

it's only a 3 cylinder so i am having trouble with where they would all go lol 6 valves ... 6 seals ... the ones they shipped are right at the head but to big on the stem... and yes same issue ..everyone has multiplle part numbers for the same engine ....or am i missing something ?

I ordered a rebuild kit for my tractor on ebay ...everything is as it should be except the valve stem seals ...anyone have a part # seams the machine shop says it is 4.5x 7mm but i don't seem to be able to locate any by size. B7100HST circa 1991 she was built any thoughts would be...

hi folks ....thanks for all the responses ... after some discussions with my son and nephew it may have been run hot last summer a couple times ...which coincides with the issue begining. i got time to do a compression test today ...wet they all came in at 300psi much to my dismay .... oh well...
