    L5450 hydraulic problem

Hello, Quick follow up on this problem, it turns out that the valve was not the culprit, it was the 3 point hitch draft pressure sensing lever (dont know how it is called) that was always activated due to a bent bracket. The 3 point would then always raise up trying to relieve pressure coming...

    L5450 hydraulic problem

Hello Dick, I hoped you would chime in to help me again with my L3 :) Yes there is 2 remotes and we used mainly (only) the first one fed by the rear power beyond. We did not tried the other remote, but I guess trying this would confirm that the first valve is hung up if the second remote works...

    L5450 hydraulic problem

Thanks a lot Dan for the circuit explanation and the replumb alternative. We knew that sticking a can of beans between the fender and the remote to keep it open was not the best of ideas... :) I'll try to unstuck the valve first and will then for sure use your idea to feed the trailer valve.

    L5450 hydraulic problem

Hello, We have put the L5450 to its pace in forestry work since I got it last year and its been doiing a great job for us. We basically use it to collect and haul logs with a forwarding trailer. The trailer have its own hydraulic controls and is connected to one of the rear remotes. So to get...

L5450 3pt lift lever will not move

Hello, I'm no expert by any means, but I also have a L5450 so I went out to take pictures of the same linkage : From the part manual (hydraulic system/top link), you seems to miss the link rod to the top link bracket (parts 20 to 60). Hope this helps!

Home made quick attach, or old and uncommon?

Thanks for all advices. I looked at big pit loaders buckets and they seems to use the same kind of mount, and it does indeed looks like euro quick attach, but the diameter of the top tubing looks smaller on the euro, unless it is not standard? I will probably end up buying a grapple without...

Home made quick attach, or old and uncommon?

Hello, Still familiarizing with my new to me kubota, and got a question concerning the quick attach it came with. I've been shopping for a grapple to put on the loader, but didnt found any wich have the corresponding brackets that would match the quick I have. So my question is I guess, is...

    On the fly shifting

Hello, Sorry I forgot to mention the model, I have an older l5450, this is an 8 speed gear tractor with Hi-Lo + 4 speeds and hydraulic shuttle shift. Thanks

    On the fly shifting

Hello, I'm getting familiar with my new to me gear tractor, I just read the operator manual from cover to cover but I still got an question related to the gear shifting : Is it possible/good practice to shift on the fly like a car? If I want to lets say go to a higher speed, do I need to start...

L5450 - 4wd problem, removing propeller shaft cover

Thanks a lot Dick for the thorough answer! I didnt even know the default 85% aspect ratio was not stated on Ag tires... it's much clearer now :)

L5450 - 4wd problem, removing propeller shaft cover

I just had a look at tires sizes, the R1 are : 16.9-28 11.2R20 I also got a turf tires set in the bundle, the sizes are : 21.5L-16.1SL 29x12.50-15NHS I tought I had the correct ratio as TractorData List the sames diameters for the R1 tires in the L5450 specs, but you have me doubting if the...

L5450 - 4wd problem, removing propeller shaft cover

Hello, Well, I'm quite happy to report that the new coupling actually restored the 4wd function! I raise my hat to Kubota engineers for designing thoses softer couplings that takes the hit, preventing more expensives parts of the drivetrain to be damaged... Very clever. The process was very...

L5450 - 4wd problem, removing propeller shaft cover

Hello, I might be lucky after all as the front coupling linking the propeller shaft to the front axle is stripped smooth on the axle side. After taking out the shaft and spinning the front wheel, the pinion shaft is moving accordingly to the movement of the wheel, so I assume that the missing...

L5450 - 4wd problem, removing propeller shaft cover

Hello! First, thanks a lot rbargeron for the L5450 fluids and capacities, I will keep this in my files for sure! Finally got the shaft cover removed. The oil problem when unbolting the brace was minor after all, when I loosen the same bolt again only a couple drops of oil came out, so it...

L5450 - 4wd problem, removing propeller shaft cover

Hello, I agree it does not make any sense, after looking again at the part manual, the drain plug is more at front than the loader brace. I'm sure that I need to remove theses 2 bolts to remove the brace though... I just dont get why there is oil coming out of there... I'll just try again...

L5450 - 4wd problem, removing propeller shaft cover

Hello, I finally had time to go under to remove the loader brace, but stopped when removing the 2 bottoms hex bolts (100 in the loader part diagram) because as soon as I freed the first one, a generous flow of oil poured down... It appears that one of theses bolts is also used as plug in the...

L5450 - 4wd problem, removing propeller shaft cover

Hello Dick, thanks for the answer, I will try to remove the shaft today to see if the couplings are the cause. If not I will leave the shaft out until I fix it (or get it fixed) to not cause further damage. I'll let you know what I find :) Otherwise yeah I really like the tractor and, even if...

L5450 - 4wd problem, removing propeller shaft cover

Hello everyone, New member of the Kubota family here, as I just bought a new to me L5450 from 1994! I'm basically a newbee when it comes to tractors, having only owned a small garden tractor so far... This one is in a different class! Tractor is in good shape and everything seems to work as...
