    Rock Stacking...

I first thought you were talking about dry stacking a wall (kinda). I started one supporting a berm near my tractor shed last spring and developed a good technique/ rhythm to place - BTW They really hurt when they shift! Nice touch on the bucket control resting them on each other. I tend to...

Advice on first real tractor for retirement.

Welcome - there are lots of good choices and options. After much reading and advice here, I went with L2501 as TLB and grapple. My primary objective was major land reshaping on a ridge with ROCKS and heavy old-growth forest. BH & grapple were game changers and the 2501 punches "above its...

    BX Disasters and Owner Abuse

Was traveling and just catching up... I have a similar one but mine is the pucker right in the center and never wanting to feel it again! 😬 fwiw - My entire property is sloped and on a ridge - a meter is not needed here.

    Rotella T6 synthetic oil

Never saw that before! Do you think they EVER would pay out no matter the documentation? Agree with mcmxi But it's good enough for me to use :p

Picked up a trailer this weekend

Looks great! I've been kicking it around for a while but can't seem to find any reasonable deals in my area. Everyone wants "new" money. Not asking cost, but how was the deal IYO? Obviously "fair" & you needed/wanted it... ;) Also, what does it weigh unloaded? THX

    BH77 NC

I'll chime in - it's a great, capable unit and there are a ton of tractors out there that it would fit. What are you looking to answer...? Price it right and it's gone in a week. (or less)

    Stump removal & yard rehab

You were not kidding! I would also cut as low as possible. Picture and location confirm the grind choice. IF you had it dug, that would be a MONSTER crater, disruption, take large equipment & time, THEN disposal and leveling (read big $$). As others have said, the area will sink over time...

    Stump removal & yard rehab

I have done every version of this game before Kubota & after. Just one stump, that big & critical location, I concur - would get it ground & be done. FWIW I have hacked, cut with an old CS blade, burned, drilled and waited to rot etc. It can be done but not fun!

    brush cutting old timber land

You aren't kidding - a major land owner near me owns one and it was crazy how quick and well it did the job. I felt like I should pay him to watch it was so entertaining :p Also, I've hit coaxial and netting - it was a long hard go untangling that rats nest

    Chainsaw safety

WOW - good thread and I missed this earlier. I am over on the arboristsite and heavy into felling for clean up, storm damage & firewood on my property. I ALWAYS use PPE and my preferred is Labonville full wrap chaps, helmet w/ face shield, kevlar gloves & linesman medium height composite toe...

    brush cutting old timber land

I had/have similar situations, but not the tools you all have. The HARD but effective way is to attack with a 24" blade on CS (with full PPE). Then go in with the tractor - still do this for really dense stuff and follow with the grapple or pirana on the bucket. Real slow going for larger...

    Underground storage

I spent a LOT of time in KC due to family and work and somehow never heard of this until now; Trust me it would have stuck out - VERY interesting! Thanks for posting. I learn so much weird stuff from this group :p

    Pullin stuff

AND drape something across the line/chain in case of a break to dampen the inertia - keep anybody away as well.

Four years in and looking at a tractor!

Welcome! Kubota does a particularly good job in the mid-compact lines which is why a lot of us have chosen them. Good quality & support, but not necessarily the cheapest... Read up, take a consensus of the feedback, then go look and drive them at a dealer. You have some tractor experience and...

What's your dirt doin' in my hole boy!!!

Love it! - started my three on my little Ford. My youngest girl named and drove "Clementine" on a test run when new but they are older now (i.e. not as interested after having a license) BTW - your picture reminds me that I need to fab up a CS scabbard - balancing my big saw with 24" blade on...

    First time kubota buyer

Welcome - great helpful group here. I'm biased of course, but found the 2501 to be "just right" Kick myself all the time: For not buying it sooner!! :p

Loaded package deal price check for L2501...

Absolutely incredible deal - seems too good to be true given the resale on each component? But, they are out there. It's way off market given the pic and hours Would be prepared with $ & trailer, but I would put eyes on it and confirm ownership etc. (you already know about liens)

    Installing a new lawn

My experience says to rake as much of the sizable ones out of it before they spread it & plant. Raking wet is miserable and you need to find that "just right" where they pop out but don't clump. However, I am in the middle of this battle doing extended reshaping & grading turning a slope into...
