    Front Axle/Hub showing Rust

What do you expect in your area? In winter there is salt all over the roads and steel and salt don't mix well. Also let me tell you of the City of Madison street maintenance trucks. They wanted to keep them looking nice so every night they were washed, summer and winter in the garage. turns...

    Sold my old tractor

I'm in the same boat as Cave Creek in some respects. Had a BX for about 7 years, put a few hindered hours on it at our city lot. I used it for mowing mine and a neighbor's lot and used it for snow plowing and making paths for my small dog in deep snow. Did all the earth grading for re-shaping...

    Seized wheel hub options b7610

Note that pin thru the axle hole may be tapered. I'd bet it enters the hub on the same side as where that locking bolt goes, so drive from opposite end. Your photo of the pin held by the vice grip was on either the head of the bolt or the nut. I'd see about an oxyacetylene torch. Small...

    Seized wheel hub options b7610

Look up parts on the internet and you will see it is a single piece hub and a bolt with a nut holds it in position. I hope the diagram I copied shows in the attachment. If you heat the head of that bolt red hot and let it cool slowly it will lose its heat treatment hardness. Then you can drill...

    Seized wheel hub options b7610

I'd check with dealer. They may have advice. Anyhow, as to using heat, there is no way propane or similar gets things hot enuff. You need a oxyacetylene torch, preferably a big one and heat things to near the point of melting and cool a couple of times. It is amazing how the expansion and...

    Anyone sell their tractor services?

In reading these comments, I ask what does your insurance cover? Acci8dently damaging something on other's property? Someone getting hurt with you nearby? How about your truck having some damage possibly related to the business? Sometimes the so called profit can get eaten up by unexpected things.

Any ideas on how I can safely lift and install 18ft pole barn timbers?

For a small tractor like the BX it could well be a dangerous thing to try (I used to have one of those ). Better idea was to set up some scaffolds and do it manually. Scaffold sections then will do a multiple of your chores, such as putting on siding, etc. Get your self a set of blocks and...

"Angle of repose" or "Dad Bermit"

Darn it all. Bought a new snow blower this fall. Emptied the gas out that the dealer brought it with, with the thought global warming will do its thing, since last three winters there has been less and less snow each year. That might mean this year no need for the snow blower. Each snowfall...

    Borrow Your Tractor?

I agree with te "no" crowd, even relatives. That goes for a lot of things. What was really bothersome was when I was in the navy overseas. My sister got ahold of my accordion, since she is great on a piano. How's come when I wanted it she says she figured I gave it to her? Even lost the case...

    My Tractor is Haunted

OK, I'll admit it. A number of your friends ()?) here got together and re-wired your machine. Don't be surprised at some other ghostly things this coming year.

    50 hr service

Use the oil you get from the local farm supply for diesels and the same viscosity. Period. There is nothing sacred about Kubota oil except high price.

Transmission filter will not come off

Here is what I made years ago for these problems. You tap it onto the filter for indents. Then drill the holes for the points. Works every time. If you finally have left only the base plate, you still can get it off. The points are welded on a piece of pipe. A big bolt is on the other end.

    What's wrong with this picture?

Hey Guys: That gal is suing the wrong party, cuz those profs there (and at many a university) are just the next step she is planning any how. Hell, I bet some of the instigators are some of her teachers. What she should sue is those parents that are paying her way there and for spoiling her...

    Heated (driveway) under millings

Be prepared for a lot of maintenance. There can be legal issues as well. For instance in the winter with freezing rain or similar, driving from a wet part onto the icy area can result in accidents (deliveries, etc). I've herd of a few cases like that.

    BX2380 Tire Chain Question

I no longer have my BX, but as I recall the rims are such that reversing them on the mount gives more clearance. However the valve stem is then on the inside, somewhat inconvenient.

Kubota BX2200 Chugging and losing power

I used to have a BX and finally traded in for just a mower because of continuing fuel problems I would find similar problems and tested the fuel pump pressure and found it to gradually weaken. Sometimes it would fail after only 15 to 20 hours. The factory originals cost about $145 whereas...

    Finding My Tractor's Total Weight

If you really want to know the weight there is a simple way to do it with a bathroom scale. Remember the principle of levers or see saw. Try to do this with the tractor near level, right to left when weighing. Let's say the tractor weighs 4,000. Then each side weighs 2,000. Let's guess the...
