What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

It's really interesting to see how many of us are in the Raleigh area. And yes, I also remember snowmageddon. What a cluster that was.

    Visible O-ring on hydraulic cylinder

A rod wiper also makes perfect sense. I went ahead topped off the fluid, started up the tractor and ran the bucket in all directions and everything is great. No leaks. It looks like I worried over nothing. It's just something I've never seen before. I thought maybe it was the outer seal, or...

    Visible O-ring on hydraulic cylinder

Thanks for all of the replies everyone. I feel much better about it. I've never seen these before, but it sounds like they're common. I can see them being there to protect the outward seal like VaGlock said. Thanks again

    Visible O-ring on hydraulic cylinder

Both of the hydraulic cylinders for the bucket tilt on my LA402 were leaking. I removed them both and took them to my dealer for him to rebuild. When I picked them up, they were in the fully compressed position. When I went to install them I had to extend them out a bit and when I did one of the...

    RTV-900 Stop Solenoid Woes

The external spring is there for sure. I have not taken things apart enough to see the internal spring, but I triple checked with my fingers that the arm is indeed putting tension on the solenoid to help pull it out, so I feel good about the springs. Next, I removed the solenoid and quadruple...

    RTV-900 Stop Solenoid Woes

Dave, I have the RTV900G (first in the list).

    RTV-900 Stop Solenoid Woes

I finally found some time to do some more troubleshooting on my RTV-900. I’m leaning towards the problem being a low-quality solenoid, but I haven’t convinced myself yet. I downloaded the WSM and followed the test procedures. First, I tested the timer relay connector voltage and all was good...

    RTV-900 Stop Solenoid Woes

Dave, excellent point about the WSM. I have one for my B2910, but I didn't have one for the RTV until now. The test looks pretty simple. I just need to wait for tropical storm Isaias to pass before I make my way out to the barn. Thanks, Gary

    RTV-900 Stop Solenoid Woes

This past winter I had an issue with my RTV-900 where it would not turn off. It didn’t take too long to determine the stop solenoid (aka – fuel shutoff solenoid) had gone bad. It was an easy swap out and all was good until a month ago when the new stop solenoid died in the same manner; meaning...

8' landscape rake on a 30 HP tractor?

Thanks for the replies everyone. I wasn't aware of a land lever. It looks like that could be the way to go. I'll keep an eye out for a deal.

8' landscape rake on a 30 HP tractor?

I have a 200' x 100' field that I want to level perfectly flat. It's already close to flat, but I want it even flatter. I have B2910 HST and a 5' box blade. I want to buy a landscape rake with the thinking that I can get the larger mounds and holes with the box blade and then smooth things out...

    Easy question...fuel canisters?

I also use the JustRite cans... and I believe it was also because of Sidecar's suggestion. Like Bmbbm said, they aren't cheap, but they don't leak a drop. And they feel like they will last forever. I have two yellow cans for diesel and two red cans for gas...

    Best implement to grade this?

I definitely got some good ideas here. I liked people’s suggestions of tilling and smoothing with a rake or a piece of chain-link fence, but in the end I decided to go with the box blade. I found a used Tarter 5 ft BB in great condition for $300, which I think was a great deal. Between work...

    RTV-900 doesn’t start (usually)

You guys nailed it. It's the shutoff solenoid. It's not moving when I turn the key, but if I move the plunger with my fingers the machine starts right up. Should be an easy fix and not too expensive. Thanks for the help. I love this forum. Gary

    RTV-900 doesn’t start (usually)

I have a 2004 RTV-900 with a 3-cylinder diesel. When I went to use it today it would not start. The starter spun just fine and the motor turned over, but it wouldn’t start. This happened each of several attempts I made at starting it. My first guess was that it’s a fuel issue since the starter...

    Best implement to grade this?

That looks pretty cool, but it's a bit more than what I need. Definitely some good ideas here. I think I'm going to go with the box blade. The wife reminded me that we have a pile of top soil in the back of the property that I planned on spreading in the front, so that's two jobs I can use it...

    Best implement to grade this?

Thanks everyone. Here are a few pics. The bare soil is roughly the center of the "mound" but it's wider than that. It sounds like I have a good excuse to buy a box blade.

    Best implement to grade this?

Hi folks. My wife is heavily into dog agility, where dogs and their handler run timed obstacle courses. We have an agility field on our property that is roughly 120 ft by 200 ft. My wife practices for trials on this field and she also gives private lessons to her students on it. The field is...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I gave them their annual spring bath. Nothing too fancy, just needed to get all of the yellow pollen off of them. They're stored out of the rain and out of the sun, but nothing escapes the yellow haze we experience down here.

8 ft mower on a Kubota L3400 Tractor

Does it need to be a brush hog or can you settle for a finish mower? As Sammy inferred, finish mowers are lighter than brush hogs and they don't need as much HP. On the down side, a finish mower is only good for grass.
