2008 Kubota BX23 engine in BX25 Temp Gauge Stuck pinned HOT

For BX25, the temp sensor ranges are (actual thermo unit): 220 ohms, dead cold (minimum on gauge) 70 ohms, start of red region on gauge 3 ohms at maximum temp range (off scale on gauge) So a short in the thermo unit, or a short to ground of the wire (20WY - White/Yellow wire) to the thermo unit...

    Daily Chuckle

While the odds of killing someone with backfeeding is extremely low, it is possible. Nothing is 100% "safe" when generating electricity. My solar panel "business" (I have a selling to the grid contract) has 10kW of synchronized inverters, and they should NOT feed power to the grid if they don't...

    Windows 10 Alternative

I too use LibreOffice, mostly the Calc for spreadsheets on both Windows and Linux. But I also do presentations (Powerpoint/Impress) and word processor (Writer). I regularly import/export older versions of Excel with Libreoffice Calc when on Windows. Libreoffice is fairly compatible with the MS...

    Windows 10 Alternative

A few years ago, my sister was having problems with her Win7 and trying to migrate to Win10. Never worked right. The processor was very old (Q6600), before the i3-i5-i7 series. I put Linux Mint on it, and they are still using it to this day. It is still snappy, and all accessories (scanner...

    Snow blower question

If you can't twist around to work backwards with a standard 3pt blower, I would recommend against it. There are 3pt blowers that face forward, so they follow the tractor path forward. They are less common, and usually cost a lot more. But, you don't have to look back all the time except to set...

    BX25 new leak

I can do the simple repair stuff, but after watching the videos, I'll pass on this self repair option. Thanks for the opinions...

    BX25 new leak

I have a feeling some of this was due to trapped air, due to the positive pressure when I lifted the fill dip stick. I will pop open the vent plugs and check the oil again.

    BX25 new leak

I figure that much. Just wondering what Kubota would charge to repair. I normally use 80-90 gear oil, but I think the last service at Kubota dealer, they used the UDT stuff. Machine is due for a checkup before "winter" anyway, I might just have to bite the bullet.... It seems to have...

    BX25 new leak

Just noticed this leak yesterday. Never leaked there before. Checked the gear oil. While down a little bit, it only took about a cup of gear oil to bring it back up to mid point on the dipstick. That entire side of the axle seems a bit "wet" from oil, top to bottom. Other side of front axle is...

Get rid of yellow jacket nest above ground?

I've used wasp spray, as well as brake cleaner. However, brake cleaner is "changing" away from the chlorinated stuff. Only the cleaner with the chlorinated (tetrachloroethylene, Perchloroethylene) products seems to work as an instant "killer".

    silly fuel gauge question

If it is similar to my BX25, the fuel sensor is low resistance when full (3 ohms), and high resistance (110 ohms) when empty. Since your gauge is showing full, I would suspect a short on the sensor feed wire to ground somewhere. It could also be a short in the wire in the dash area, though it...

Does this exist - BX Hydro Filter "Armor"

I installed a skid plate, that protects the hydraulic filter and the HST fan. There are a few vendors of these, including TractorAttachments, BXpanded and Bro-tek (Canadian, which I have). However, some will work with the MMM, others will not. The Bro-Tek allows a plate that can be removed, to...

    BX25d cab?

The Canadian firm Tektite still shows a cab for the BX25/BX25D: https://tektite.ca/product/kubota-bx25-deluxe-cab/?cat=16 Not cheap either, but in CAD dollars ($6600 CAD). Shipping will cost as well... It replaces your current ROPS.

    BX2750 snowblower parts

It is a standard (local hardware store) grade 5 bolt (3 lines on the head). With it being 1-1/4" long, there is a short solid section, then the threads. By looking at it, the threaded portion is what is at the actual shear point. Do not use a longer bolt, as the solid section will also be longer...

BX 25 Hazard/turn signals not working.

BX25 Manual shows it as 2 separate bulbs (Hazard and Turn), each single filament, but wired in parallel... From what I can find, they are the common 1156 type of automotive bulb

BX 25 Hazard/turn signals not working.

According to manual, the flasher unit is under the front dash, on the left side. In the BX WSM page 6-S22.

    Smart puter guys !

If changing things in the router like passwords, you can also hide/disable the SSID broadcast. That is, the wifi does not "advertise" that it exists. The only way you connect to it is you have to know the name of the wifi first, enter it into your laptop "connect to" wifi menu, and then use your...

    Whole house water filter recommendations

One further word of advice. Should you get one of these air iron filter units, try to have the backwash discharge straight into a long pipe (2 to 3 feet at least). Never into a pipe with nearby elbow (like 90 degree). What happens during the backwash is that the air is released first, like...

    Whole house water filter recommendations

Yes, that is similar to what I use. Regular "filters" do not get rid of dissolved iron in water, one has to inject air (oxygen) to have the iron react to form an oxide of iron which is then "solid" (your red staining), which can then be filtered by the bed in that filter. I had mine serviced...
