    b8200 cylinder disassembly

Bandaidmd, I had found a set that are pretty darn close from the same company. No one else had anything workable. I figured I'd do the same trimming to make them fit. They also have a slightly longer throw, but I don't think it will matter, or at worst I might need to weld in a stop...

    b8200 cylinder disassembly

Bandaidmd, do you have the specs on the replacement cylinders (or part numbers)? Starting to think you hit it on the head by going with new rams but I'm having a hard time finding the right ones. I've talked to Surplus Center and a kubota dealer and no one can tell me what fittings are on...

    b8200 cylinder disassembly

Thanks for the continued input guys. I appreciate it. So maybe I've already moved it as far as it will go and just need to concentrate on finding the right tool to get under it. I'll dive back in tomorrow and let you know how it goes. bandaidmd, I got the kit from Messicks for $100. But...

    b8200 cylinder disassembly

Well, seems to be differing opinions. I have tried to drive it down with increasing force, and I have yet to see the slightest movement. And believe me it has been hit hard.

    b8200 cylinder disassembly

Thanks for the encouragement. I'll just keep at it. Gotta remember that I was in high school when she came off the assembly line!

    b8200 cylinder disassembly

Is there a particular technique to doing that? Tried by pushing the rod in and hitting the end of the glad with a bolt and hammer. Have hit it hard enough to start to flatten the end of the bolt. Is it my method? Is this a job for a BFH and a bigger bolt or will I damage things too much?

    b8200 cylinder disassembly

Any more ideas? I have the groove well cleaned out and can see the clip well enough to see that it is a little different than Big Kahuna describes. The clip does not come back on itself. It's about 1/4 inch shorter than the circumference and sits fully down in the groove. The new one in the...

    b8200 cylinder disassembly

Ah! Now I see it! And I see that the kit has a new one. It's obviously been a good long while since it was visible. I can tell it's going to be a bit of a job to pry it out. Which begs the question... How's the new one go back in? Just set it in the groove and tap it into place?

    b8200 cylinder disassembly

Thanks Big Kahuna! Never would've figured that one out on my own. To be clear, I'm digging in the outer groove (just inside the cylinder wall)? I picked up a seal kit from Messicks. If this one goes well I'll be in the market for 3 more.

    b8200 cylinder disassembly

Hey all, I've looked around at info about tearing down a cylinder to replace the seals but have yet to see anything that looks like the ones on my early 80s B8200. I see no holes for a spanner, no lock ring or anything to grab onto to remove the end. Who out there knows the secret? Thanks

    B8200 FWD repair

Thanks guys, I'll keep it up. Worst case, I'm left with a 2WD tractor that I spent very little money on. Vic, in cross referencing, do the part numbers remain the same across all models? So if I look thru parts lists for various machines, I just look for the same number? Andy

    B8200 FWD repair

I've got a rather beat up old B8200 that has long since lost the 4WD. Cracked the diff open today to find the pinion gear is worn smooth. The parts manual lists that as an assembly with the ring gear (part no. 67810-99122). So far, so good. It only took a short while to get it out, I figure...

    Welp! Its beeen a while!

Hey Mark, Mind if I ask if you did it? I'm hoping to tackle the same cylinder repair on a BF300 (B8200 tractor). I noticed you didn't get any other replies, but hoping that you braved it anyway. :) I'd love to learn from you! The only bummer so far is that the repair kit runs $77 per...

    FEL model and serial number

Greg, Perhaps this is a loaded question, but I'm looking to do the same to a BF300 FEL on a B8200. The question is this: How much difference could there be between the B219 and the BF300? They're selling your kit for $14/ea, but mine is going for $77. A quick glance doesn't reveal a huge...
