    Lost the Pooch

Sorry to hear that Northwoodslife but Bow may still return. We had a dog many years ago that did the same thing - bolted into the woods after a deer. We were pretty upset but a week later he showed up. Dirty but none the worse for his adventure. Here's hoping.

I think I've made my retirement decision....

Good luck RCW. I ran my own business for 25 years before I closed it and went to work for a competitor. That was 30 years ago. It's time for me too. Monday I am telling our CEO that I'm done the end of May. They have been very good to me (family business). About 5 years into this job he asked...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

They shipped in just about a week to the closest branch of the company I work for. One of the drivers then delivered it today with a lift gate. I wasn't anxious to take it off the truck with my forks as the max lift is about 1100lbs and the weight is out a bit on them. Good decision. I only had...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Of course I couldn't get to assembly instructions until I removed the metal shipping crate, all the loose pieces and the mountain of plastic wrap and cardboard. That's when I saw I had to mount the chipper on the 3 point to remove the metal shipping base (soon to become chipper dolly). Of course...

Damaged Loader... How best to repair?

I am not familiar with your bucket, I assume its a quick attach. If so my recent experience may help. I tweaked the support tube that runs between the ssqa. It caused the exact same problem - one side over an inch higher than the other, a pia to mount anything on it. It was very easy to see that...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I swapped the bucket for the forks (my automated ssqa lock still works :) ). My son and I then moved this pigeon hole rack into the basement: I bought it at a government auction with plans to use it in my workshop to organize small parts / hardware. I had grossly underestimated how heavy the...

    Chainsaw safety

This is a good thread for me to read as I'm about to do a fair amount of felling. I admit when doing a 'quick job' I leave all the PPE on a hook :( Reading here is another reminder that accidents happen even on little jobs. I shouldn't need to be reminded as I, as many others here, know...

    Looking for an auger extension

Yeah we are talking about 20 years ago. I needed to plant over 100 4X4's in he woods for a dog fence and to put in some trees. Found a beater PHD. Because some of the 4X4's had to go in 4' I needed the extension. Job over and I got tired of looking at the PHD. Sold it for what I paid for it...

    Looking for an auger extension

lol, I 'had' a 12" extension. When I sold that last PHD the extension went with it. Thanks for that link - I'm pretty sure it will work.

    Looking for an auger extension

other than I already have the 2 diameter augers I need and would have a really hard time justifying buying a new auger that I would hardly ever use. An extension would give me that extra length on 2 existing augers, should I need that.

    Looking for an auger extension

I have been searching the interwebby trying to find a 2" round auger extension 15" or 18". I was kind of surprised tractor supply didn't show one. I need to drill 3 holes 48" deep and my augers are all 3' - normally plenty for what I do with them. Years ago, for my last PHD, I had a local...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

During our recent stay in Florida we went to a resturant on the water. My friend and I walked around the docks looking at the boats - mostly outboards and Yamaha seemed to the motor of choice. I believe this is 4 400hp and 1 300hp example - wouldn't want to pay for a day's gas!

    Owwwww...

Ok fair statement. Let's take a look at what it takes to 'make' 100,000 btu's of heat. An oil boiler at 80% efficiency (modern boilers when new or right after they have been vacuumed clean) will give you .8 * 137,000 = 109,600 btu's. So to make 100,000 we would need ~ .9 gallons of oil. If you...
