    Snowblower Chute Mod-Linear Actuator

Snowing 8" to 12" now... Anyway, sleeve is done for now.

    Snowblower Chute Mod-Linear Actuator

I was concerned that my setup would be kind of wonky the way it is attached to the chute. I even read posts online about leaving everything a bit loose so that the actuator could move without binding. So, I went with the fender washers on both sides of the steel to provide support and spread...

    Snowblower Chute Mod-Linear Actuator

***************UPDATE**************** Trial by fire, or snow as it was. Solid 12 inches, actuator worked fanatastic. What a pleasure not having snow blown in my face. I was able to place the discharge exactly where I wanted it to go. In fact, I could get right up along side the vehicles and...

    Snowblower Chute Mod-Linear Actuator

Yep, tight quarters. Two vehicles, wood rack, retaining wall, 1st pass out is into the wind, so yes, being able to aim the discharge helps a lot. Up by the road it doesn't matter, but down close to the house is a pain. We're going to make a pattern for the cover today. The forecast is for...

    Snowblower Chute Mod-Linear Actuator

I know folks have expressed concern about water intrusion. My wife's fabric collection includes a piece of ballistic nylon. She's going make a "sock" out of it that will fit over the top. It will have a velcro strip along along the chute side so I can simply close it around the actuator...

    Snowblower Chute Mod-Linear Actuator

The deed is done. We've been relatively snow-less for a spell...that will change this weekend apparently, so I sort of dragged this on for a while. But it works, and doesn't look like a cob job. Can't post vid it seems.

    Snowblower Chute Mod-Linear Actuator

Really, the toughest part, beside where to drill two holes in thew chute, was where to mount the switch. On my BX, the dash is crowded and not much space that is flat. I finally mounted it on the left hand side just above the screening. I bought a mounting sleeve for the switch and it popped...

    Snowblower Chute Mod-Linear Actuator

Ryno12...YOU ARE THE MAN! You have the same blower as me and your photos are the guidance needed. It looks like you located the actuator pretty much centered up on the chute. I was thinking maybe to drill the top hole just above the existing slot, following the arc, but you've gone a bit...

    Snowblower Chute Mod-Linear Actuator

I got the actuator from Firgirelli Auto and the switch from Amazon, nothing fancy. The installation of the switch and wiring was simple, and all told everything was pretty cheap. You would think, considering the cost of the snowthrower, that the up and down chute deflection would at least be...

    Snowblower Chute Mod-Linear Actuator

Merry Christmas All! I'm actually ahead of the snow game this season...got the blower mounted before the first snow.... This summer I gathered up the stuff to mount an actuator on the snowblower's deflector chute, and the switch and wiring is all good. Now all I need to figure is where to...

    Tire Chains On BX2670

I have diamond type chains on my 2370...and leave them on year-round. No problem with the mmm. Can't do spacers though.

    BX 8064 Weight Bracket

Well, here is one observation; the bracket apparently has to be removed because the quick attach for the snowblower hangs off the front bumper. I'm going to order the bracket.

    BX 8064 Weight Bracket

Greetings and salutations.... Question for the team. I have a BX2370 and am thinking of getting a weight bracket for the front. I have read here on the forum that stuff mounted up front can interfere with other equipment, or even just servicing. Anybody have this bracket (bx8064a)? I mount...

Right end of snowblower leans down

Daddy likes the float position. Gave it try yesterday on some light snow...this will be very handy. A sincere thank you to all for the operator lesson. JDS

Right end of snowblower leans down

That's a thought, I see what you mean. If I loosen the left T bolt a bit it should make the left side drop a hair. The manual says to keep both those things tight, but even then the hitch basically hangs off the tractor.

Right end of snowblower leans down

Aha! When I first used this thing I shoved the control way up and apparently into the detent position...thought I broke something and didn't do that again. So, that will float the thing...I'll give it a try next snow event. Thanks for the guidance, I had no idea. Hardly any snow here, but...

Right end of snowblower leans down

The shoes, or skids, are all the way down. But in some places I need to lift up off the ground, such as having the right side barely in contact. That leaves the left side a little too high, higher than I would like. But like the Borg said, I'm assimilating. I did not switch the lines. And...
