    Chains fo L6060

Not sure if your clearance is like mine being a 6060. But if you look to the inside of the rear tires, there is probably less than a quarter of an inch from the inside sidewall to the frame..... At least on mine. I often wonder how long you got to catch a low rear tire before it'll shred...

    Chains fo L6060

That’s a really good idea on the Euros style diamond chains with studs snow belt is heavy here and I know studs on their own will not be sufficient with climbing up the hills and snow often up to the axles. I’ll definitely need to consider your option. Thank you for that. I could post a picture...

    Chains fo L6060

If you are using ladder chains on R4's you will likely find the chains walking and causing problems with clearance. I currently have double ladder chains but have kept them hanging on the wall since installing tire studs. These have helped with my winter tire traction on ice and on paved roads...

    Chains fo L6060

Thanks for your speedy reply! ok, i know tires have never been swapped. Ill look into this when i return home next week-on vacation and was thinking about chains over coffee this morning. I’m thinking on installing ladder chains. I won’t be driving down payroll. It’s simply side Road, but I’ll...

Need advice on gravel driveway repair

^^THIS^^ Looks pretty good compared to my 6/10 mile driveway. My 2 cents to add to Jay's very solid advice: 1) your light duty (read not much weight) box blade won't do a whole lot unless you have had a decent rain recently, and you need WEIGHT on that blade. I have a light duty 5' BB with...

Need advice on gravel driveway repair

...ditch. Drive on that for 2-3 weeks and DON"T drive in the same two lines.... Late farmer cross the road would drag 8' C-channel and used tire chains, up and down his 1/4mdriveway, every Sunday, after church, before brunch. His driveway looked GREAT ! You may find after restoring the 'base'...

    L2500 at work

Has been a long time since I fired up the L2500. But I needed to grade my asphalt millings driveway again after all this rain we've had. Got 4.7" on June 30-July 1. The last time I ran the tractor was to push snow off the driveway, last February. It sits outside, with a cover over the...

    Best position for bucket hooks

I’m assuming by “asymmetrical” you mean the tire on opposite corner. To lift from center of bucket-You can get two chains (one with hooks) and drape one across both your hooks, then hook another to the center of that chain between hooks and to your load, centering load.

    Tire Chains

GP Outdoors has a good video of his need and choice for tire chains. I have R14's on my LX3310 and find them great in the snow but I also have flat ground.

    Tire Chains

Similar issue with the BX2380. When I looked at the models sitting on the dealer's lot it looked like plenty of space. Added 2" wheel spacers for hopefully improved stability. Side fender space is not an issue. After taking delivery discovered on the user right side fender towards the front...

    Tire Chains

Greetings! LX2620HSDC. I'm looking forward to using my tractor for clearing snow this winter. The room around the rear tires is tight between the fenders and side walls. Has anybody been successful at putting on chains? Even the salesman said to be careful. How about the screw-in studs? Any...

    Beet juice and chains...

i live in a rural area and there’s the Libota dealer here, New Holland and a Mahindra dealer. to be honest, I’m most likely going to get chains no matter what tire I get. I also have very rocky terrain in some places and the R4’s are 6-ply tires and probably a bit more durable. So I’ll probably...

    First Time Buyer MX4700

...on a tiller. I ran loaders for years on two wheel drive tractors. 100-`150 HP tractors. I got real good at putting on and taking off tire chains when hauling and feeding big round bales. After I bought my first FWA tractor with loader I never had to put chains on a loader tractor since. I...

    Beet juice and chains...

Did not have chains or studs on NH compact used for 24 seasons of dealing with Lake Effect snowfall. Using a rear mounted 60" snowblower that added almost 500# and heavy duty bucket on the FEL. Did have days which I could only remove the snow heading downhill using the snowblower. Driveway...

    Beet juice and chains...

...Most of the time I'll have either a box blade or backhoe on the tractor (box blade more than backhoe). 2. Would it be worth investing in tire chains? I'll be using the tractor in the winter for snow removal on a gravel driveway using the box blade and FEL. Lower part of the driveway is on a...

    Fixing something to fix something.

I try to avoid using wood wherever possible, unless I'm stuffing it into the wood-burning stove during the winter months. A plywood deck is kind of urghhh .... and I'd rather use aluminum and be done with it. You're right though about the capacity of the trailer, and 3/16" aluminum would be...

...for ventilation). Hindsight, but maybe on a 5x10 trailer the 3/16 is okay. You're not going to put a 7,000 pound tractor with tire chains on it...... Is it reasonable to consider a decent plywood replacement floor, and just figure it's a wear item needing periodic...

    Newbie tire questions

OP, just my experience dealing with snow for more than a couple decades on a tractor that had R1. Traction is zilch on hard packed slippery snow. Rear mounted snowblower that I could only run downhill under those conditions. Normally I like to take the first run (downhill) using the bucket as...

    Newbie tire questions

Good day. I don’t have a solution or tire recommendation for you but… I would suggest consider your year round normal weather patterns, terrain and likely uses, and plan for whichever you prioritize…there may not be one that is perfect. My assumption is that your area may deal with more cold...
