I have a L2501 with the"old" style R4 tires and have never needed chains when plowing. I do have a weight box on it. I am looking at trading for a L2502 and will get the new style R4 tires on it.
I have been mowing with a L2501 for years, had a l3200 before that, It works great for me. I don't have a golf course like lawn, so maybe that makes a difference, but I think it works well.
Looks like a pile of junk to me, I would pay salvage price for it. The L3301 and L3901 don't seem to have a bunch of Regen problems ,but the common rail fuel system does not like a lack of maintenance, and this tractor looks like that was not done.
Just lucky I Guess!! Some of the tractors were built with no shim or too little to get timing back , so I don't know how they will handle that. Really wanted one but will wait and see now.
I have been trying to buy one for two months, they did the update in the service bulletin and it did not fix it. Kubota told them it would need a complete engine replacement. The dealer said Kubota had "issues" with this engine? There is over 13,000 tractors that came through with the timing...
A big batch of L2502 were built with the pump timing retarded , causing smoking on cold start and down on power, a service bulletin came out in December. Might want to check with your dealer.
Yes the price is with the free loader, I wanted a L2502 but with the engine problems they are having I started looking around. When you add the factory style rear remotes the price gap widens even more,
