B7100 HST 4X4 Front wheel locking - Need Help

Yes, use anti-seize. And three years from now when he has to take it apart again he won't have to go though this again. BTW, heat will destroy the seal and beating on it when a BFH ain't doing the seal and bearings any favors. And dont' confuse a roll pin with a tension pin.

B7100 HST 4X4 Front wheel locking - Need Help

Try to get an accurate measurement of yoke center to center before you or someone else takes it completely apart incase you have to have a new weld-up shaft made. Also note the yokes relative to each other on the shaft so not to be 'out of phase'.....if so they will fight each other end to end...

B7100 HST 4X4 Front wheel locking - Need Help

Can you post some pics of your damaged shaft? As for the shaft itself.....nothin more than round stock and two yokes. Driveline shop here could have the shaft and yokes trued up and welded for less than $150. This leaves the splined yoke at the trans......what's that cost? This ain't $600...

B7100 HST 4X4 Front wheel locking - Need Help

Also... Drill the center out of the roll pin first. Then use a puch to drive out the remnant of the pin. Then drill out for the larger roll pin.....do not try to drill the larger hole all in one shot....drill will wander off.......trust me. You may find that once you remove the sheared pin...

    New guy with B7001

I just graduated from Cub Cadet to something that does some real work. :) Picked it up last week and finally got some time to do some work on it today, maintanance was not a vocation with the previous owner. I came with a 4' LMC finish mower and I already had a 5' rake and 4' box. The...
