Make sure there isn,t something attached to your 3 point hitch that might keep it from coming up as much as possible. If it doesn,t come up all the way, it is harder to turn the knob. And I find that it works better if I always turn the knob clockwise only.

What kind of snowblower do you have on your tractor ? I found one for mine by googling the brand name of the blower, along with shoot rotator. Cann,t hurt to give that a try. Is it front or rear mount ? If rear mount, do you have ports on the rear of your tractor, if not, you may need extensions...

What is the max for RPMs ? Would there happen to be a rev limiter set at 3K RPM ?

Welcome to the site. I would think a 1 inch shorter belt would work ok, because it would just pull the tensioner a bit tighter. Percentage wise, 1 inch over the length of an 83 inch belt isn,t that much of a variance.

Any chance that there was already water mixed with fuel before you put it in your tractor ? Maybe check your fuel container, and put some in a clear bottle or jug and see if it separates ? Have you used the same can of fuel in any machine, and if so, does it have a problem with water in the fuel ?

The instructions in your owners manual are very well written. Did you get the manual, or haven,t you read it yet ? If your like most of us, reading the manual is the last resort.
