Not so new here with a couple of B6000's

Thanks. The new glow plug indicator lights up like a light bulb filament within a couple of seconds. I didn't get a picture of it though. It started within 10 seconds today and there wasn't much smoke but it was almost 30°C out. The old one read 0.4 to 0.5 ohms so it was about the same as the...

Not so new here with a couple of B6000's

More new parts! New glow plug indicator came in... It was an Amazon DVparts brand that had good reviews. Looks like the coiled wire should light up better than what is in there now, it's a much thinner gauge. Not sure if that's a good thing. It measures 0.5ohm. After I pull the old one I'll...

Not so new here with a couple of B6000's

Well it started better this afternoon... We'll see if it was just a coincidence next time or not. I used it to haul some water to some newly planted trees and the flowers to warm it up. Then filled the fuel filter with seafoam and put half a bottle in the tank. Let it run for a couple of...

Not so new here with a couple of B6000's

Couldn't sleep last night so after a couple of hours of tossing and turning I got out of bed to do something productive. Drained the oil from the rototiller and put new stuff in. And while it was draining I went through all the wire connections in the dash and cleaned them and reassembled with...

    B6100 w/ Loader+Backhoe

Me too! I love the get it done attitude with what you've got on hand. And that I need a weldine machine.

    WTB: B7100 grille

If they are NLA what about getting one 3D printed or having one engraved out of plastic or aluminum? Doesn't look like it'd be too hard to replicate with a straight on picture...

Not so new here with a couple of B6000's

Thanks Russel, I'm not sure if it has been modified or if it is because it is a "Grey" tractor. To preheat the glow plugs requires turning the key switch to the left of the off position. It is not on a separate switch as the manual indicates. The hole where the glow plug switch should be is...

And regarding injectors, is it possible to clean them myself or is it better to bring them to a shop? I have an ultrasonic cleaner and have no problem taking a multitude of different kinds of carbs apart and reassembling them. But I read that diesel injectors should be sent in... Does that apply...

Thanks again Wolfman. I do have a gas engine compression tester but not a diesel one. I think it only goes up to 300psi. Is it just a matter of threading it into the glow plug holes? What kind of pressure readings would be considered normal? It was raining here all evening so I didn't have much...

Not so new here with a couple of B6000's

Thanks, Maybe I'm chasing down the wrong rabbit hole then. It seems like even with the recommended 30-40 seconds of glow plugs before attempting to start it still takes a bunch of cranking even when the temperatures are 20°c+. There's a bunch of grey/black smoke out the exhaust. Once it's fired...

Got the fuel line replaced. And the new glow plugs installed. Boy it's tight to get them out but they can just squeeze out past the injectors with everything still hooked up. Next up is the glow plug indicator. I'm not sure how bright the coiled wire is supposed to glow but mine barely does...

Not so new here with a couple of B6000's

Thanks Andreas, Yes I agree they are easy to work on. I am slowly working through the issues/maintenance it needs. A B7100 would be a nice step up from the B6000 and it's silly CCW PTO but with the rototiller and FEL on it already I don't think I'll have a need for any powered 3PH attachments in...

Not so new here with a couple of B6000's

Replaced the fuel filters today. The first cartridge one under the tank was pretty dirty. But the fuel line off of the pump cracked during the process. And unfortunately I didn't have any 5/16" line in my stockpile so I had to order some.

Not so new here with a couple of B6000's

Well, well.... I found a used but looks like good condition ring and pinion gear for $375 USD shipped to Canada. I don't think I'll find anything cheaper than that. And with new seals and bearings I could rebuild the front axle for under $750 CAD I'd imagine. Finding the time to do it all might...

Not so new here with a couple of B6000's

And both the front axles are leaking at the hubs. Given the condition of the ring and pinion I'm not going to bother replacing the seals until a solution is decided. The 4wd did get me out of a bind when I had a load of dirt in the bucket though and the rear wheels didn't have any traction.

Changed the transmission fluid tonight and to my surprise there was no "filter" screen present. I think this little tractor had a hard life in it's previous life. The fluid looked pretty good considering with very few sparkles but I'm glad I changed it. Maybe it was changed when the loader was...

Not so new here with a couple of B6000's

Found a set of 6-12 tires for the front on rims for $150. It doesn't look like the rims have the correct bolt pattern but that's alright. Also made some temporary stickers for the controls until I get everything painted and order a set of reproduction decals. And I ordered a set of new NGK...

    Kubota O Rings

I don't think those hydraulic fitting O-Rings are the ones he is looking for. It looks like maybe one for the oil pickup tube and for the control valve? The part numbers for bearings in the Kubota parts books the last part is the actual bearing number from what I've seen so it might be similar...

    Kubota O Rings

Good catch Dan. I didn't realize the piece of equipment he is working on is a lawn tractor. Maybe a 2-026? Or there's a good chance they are Metric ones so maybe a JIS B2401 P26?

    Kubota O Rings

I'd guess the numbers after the 04816 is the "dash" size of the O-ring. So a 04816-00260 would be a 2-260 O-ring. It could also be the JIS number since it may be Metric. I've attached reference sheets that lists O-Rings numbers and their actual size dimensions for the O-rings that you can check...
