One reason I wanted a portable generator is if I need to do some welding at the ranch I can load the generator and the welder and get the job done....and that size generator will run my Hobart Mig welder or the Lincoln tombstone

Sorry for delayed response...I don't log in very often anymore.

Does that quote include the automatic transfer switch? If possible, try to keep your generator close to where your panel is located. That will cut down the installation cost.

Yes it includes the transfer switch. It get the generator close to the elec meter and panel it ends up real close to a bedroom window. So I'm considering moving it out 40 feet or so. It's just conduit and wire!! Wouldn't that additional cost be better in the long run than a lawnmower outside my BR window?
