B7200 hst d 4wd why have my voltage regulator got a spare red wire not connected to anything it has an insulated bullet connector on it and no where to connect to. I have slightly flickering charging light on low revs. With charging issues. New battery in it.

A picture would help.
I looked up the part and the only single wire appears to be a ground wire. (black)

What you have is a Aftermarket voltage regulator, the pinouts and the wire colors are not the same as an OEM regulator.
Can't tell you what they are or should be on that regulator.

The wiring schematic will tell you what they need to be.

Do you suppose it may have something to do with the fact you have the wrong regulator on it?
