I think that would depend on the implement you're running out back or off a 3rd function. If the movement is too fast you can slow it down with restrictors. Excavators have the ability to adjust oil flow rate to various circuits to match different implements.

Good point! I'll have to keep those in mind if i'm ever needing them. Good tool to have in the arsenal so to say.

I started on tinting my window(s) this morning, only got one done!

IMG_20260524_085301057.jpg

I also got the right side latch replaced ... I didn't have a big enough sheet to do the whole door at once, I put the 20% ceramic on top, then the 35% ceramic on the smaller lower section ... The line is just above the door handle.

IMG_20260524_102524288.jpg

It's far from perfect, but good enough for this farm tractor, didn't have quite enough for the bottom 1.5" ...

IMG_20260524_110511970.jpg

Headed out to mow now ...

I found my tractors keys a week after I misplaced them. They were exactly where I left them! 🤦🏻‍♂️🤣

Today was a big day.

I cut off the chute on my zero turn. I held up a plate, stenciled it, cut it out, and welded it, so i can disable the chute. I also picked up some clearance spraypaint a few weeks ago, which looked suspiciously like kubota orange.

Well bad news. The new Zero turn is already going back to the dealership. Something is wrong with the electronics already. I can't even mow the lawn. I think one of the ignitions coils is bad. 6 hours and haven't even made my first payment!

What a weird problem to experience so new. The first week it mowed perfectly fine, the second week there was one time where it bogged down but returned to normal for the rest of the mow. I just thought it might have been the EFI system learning.

The third week it bogged down a few times but didn't stop me any and last Friday it became so bad that it was unusable. Disengage the PTO and the engine returns to normal. Its possible I just got bad gas but I don't feel like it is because if I shut the tractor off and let it sit for 60 seconds and start It up, it will run and engage the deck just fine for a few minutes then it will start doing this weird bogging down and ramping backup. Also backfires too and I can smell fuel during this time. Also the throttle dial is no responding during this period.

So they are going to pick up the mower tomorrow and see what's going on with it. They said something isn't right and they will fix it at no cost (as they should) and will do a complete service on it to get rid of the break in oil.

Very heart breaking. A brand that I trust and thought to be reliable has kind of hurt my feelings toward Kubota. Maybe I should have bought a SCAG or Hustler.

I will keep you updated on what happens, I'm sure they will fix it. But I am going to doubt this thing for now on, I never know when it's going to fail again. On the other hand, they can fix it and never have problems again. The positive thing though is Kubota has very good warranty.

Needless to say, I'm bummed and feel like I made the wrong choice.

When I first got my Z421 it would like to sputter at certain times, especially when I was turning around at the end of a row and I also thought I had a problem with my new machine. Turns out I was lifting my butt off of the seat just enough to cause the safety switch to think I was getting off the mower. I bought an aftermarket suspension seat and the problem has gone away.

It definitely isn't that haha. I wish it was that simple! The check engine light doesn't even come on which is weird but doesn't mean anything. It could be throwing codes, I'm sure they will scan it.

Well that sucks for sure! It's never a good feeling to buy something new and immediately experience issues. On the other hand, any machine from any manufacturer regardless of price can have problems. I don't know a thing about Kawasaki engines since I've only ever owned Kubotas with Kubota engines, which includes four tractors and a generator and all with zero issues. Is Kawasaki well-regarded in the zero turn market?

Yesterday spent 3 1/2 hours of seat time cleaning up ice storm damage. I see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I hated to lose this larger red pine. I put in a tiny watering station for wildlife and chose the location due to being somewhat hidden and this pine was part of that.

The Kawasaki V-twin has a good track record for exceptional reliability.

I run 2 (Green) mower/tractors on the farm. One is older and still going strong. We received a newer donor of the same basic model only newer and its had problems. I maintain them and work on them a bit and I can say I don't appreciate the added nanny safety crap they added to the newer model. The new electronics and fuel solenoid's have been problematic. I've had to go through and treat for corrosion on both of them, but the older one has been bullet proof and never a single problem.

I've been quite surprised how much abuse they take. The fields are very bumpy, and the old one just takes a likin and keep o tiken.

I have been surprisingly impressed by the Kawasaki V-twin. They seem to be a smooth running fairly bullet-proof design.

I have a 31 HP Kawasaki v-twin gas with carb, it has over 1450 hours on it, most say they are a 4K-5K hour engine ... Mines on a commercial green Z-turn

Well, it’s not a Kubota but it matches my other Kubota’s! It’s a remote control slope mower. 16 hp gasoline, 30 inch cut. runs very smooth and cuts really good! I can do about a 35° slope very easy!
Electric start, electric shut down, LED lights, electric height adjustment, cruise control!

My older mower had a Kawasaki and that thing ran great. Never had an engine problem so I wanted to stick with Kawasaki but wanted more power and fuel efficiency. It is impressive how much fuel this EFI model saves. Going from 22hp to 26hp doesn't sound like a lot but I can tell the difference.

Like I said, I'm sure the engine is just fine. It's some stupid electronic issue that was probably faulty from the get-go. They will be picking it up today and I am hoping they will get to it today and let me know what the issue was.

The good thing is since it has an ECU, they can look a computer up to it and see the logs of how the engine been running and what it is been doing. I found out Kawasaki offers the software to read the ECU for free but you need a $500 adapter! Glad the dealership has it haha.

Now that my BH77 is back working I wanted to dig out the rock I had to keep lifting the mower deck for.
Found it to be big to lift out. So dug the hole to the side and flipped it sideways and reburied it in place.
Hope it stays down there till after I'm dead.
If I really need it out of there I would've dug a ramp and put straps around it and pulled it out with the winch on my M6800.

Finally got around to mowing (a few days late). The grass was so long that there was no sweet spot for PTO or tractor speeds. Now there's a bunch of green clumps to do battle with next time. Bright spot was looking over and seeing BIL on his L4740😁

I'm not complaining about the ~4" of rain we've gotten in the past 4 or 5 days (we are in drought conditions), but my yard is growing like crazy, and wet, and I leave for the beach at o-dark thirty Friday morning, with more storms expected this afternoon.
