I have a 10 x 6 LoadTrail (7000lbs) and it does everything I need for my 3.6 acres.
In fact, I just took my 69th load to the FS burn pit this past week.
One thing to consider (maybe minor) is the cost of replacement tires for the larger trailer.
Neighbor has a 12 x 7 Lamar (12,000lbs) and was shocked at the price difference between his 16" tires and my 15" tires.

Can't believe I survived so long without this little tractor.

They didn't quite land that neat - a little manual adjustment was needed.

Used the L to push out a few small trees and bush hog some smaller stuff to make an ATV / walking trail… IMG_8560.jpeg to get from the end of one of the ridges here… IMG_8557.jpeg to the creek bottom here. IMG_8450.jpeg
After that, drove up to the field with trees adjacent to the public road. One of the golden rain trees didn’t come back this year. My father planted them in a grid about 40 years ago. Not sure what happened to this one. While I had the tractor out and a few minutes to spare, went ahead and pushed it over. Will clean it up in the next few days. IMG_8565.jpeg
Edit: After a brief internet search, appears 40 year old golden rain trees are getting to the end of their life expectancy. Could just be old.

A couple of small upgrades to the LX2620. Saw these on a Goodworks video. Made in Michigan, good quality welds, and fit like a glove. Seems the tie downs should have been something that came standard from Kubota. Shipped to AK quickly and at a surprisingly reasonable price.

Not sure if this is the right forum to ask this, but I have been looking at dump trailers for my farm. I was originally thinking of a 6x10, but the cost to move up to a 7x12 isn’t that much more. My Durand could pull either, but the bigger trailer is rated at 12000 lb. and someone told me that in NJ, I could only have a trailer rated at 9900 lb. Not sure if that is true.

I would use this trailer for moving material (soil, manure, stone). I’m not so concerned about the price difference, but I don’t want something too big (or too small). lol. Is the smaller trailer a better fit for a small farm (23 acres).
Not sure about NJ. I wouldn't think it would matter as long as your GCWR is no more that 26K (CDL). The 9,990 makes any combination under a Class A CDL, but could be a Class B if the tow vehicle was in excess on 26K GVWR.

If you intend on pulling your trailer with anything up to a 1 ton pickup, you should be fine with either trailer. Just check your GVWR for your tow vehicle. If it's under 14K, you're good to go with either trailer (without a CDL).

One other option is to get the larger trailer and derate it for registration purposes.

Did some "pasture" grading today. The upper one was really rough.

and not a mini-ex in sight today. ;)

when I got done with this one and let the colts in to play they got really excited. Too excited actually. They were sprinting around so fast that one of them wiped out. I happened to catch him in the photo as he was getting back to his feet.

The green patch on the right hand side is the lower pasture. That's getting a makeover in the next set of pics.

Lower pasture: landscape rake, then box blade, then raked again. I was wishing that I had purchased a used tiller this winter.

Yard was getting shaggy so I got a mowing and then I put the waste to the compost pile and gave it a turn. (I don’t think the pallets have much time left.)

Made some more progress on the FIMCO sprayer assembly today. A couple of minor setbacks but I should be able to give it a test run this week. I like things to be neat and tidy, so routing hoses, using zip ties, aligning hose clamps etc., all takes time. Somehow I managed to cross thread one of the plastic fittings that threads into the roller pump, the one for the 1" inlet hose. I'll have to find a replacement for it locally.

The view from the cab is good in that I can see the gauge easily. This sprayer looks right on the M6060, the size at least.

What will you spray with it?

(Wondering about the plants and the spray itself, I’ve never sprayed anything, I live in the woods of the northeast and keep my yard fairly natural, for want of a better word for it.)

Looks like a perfect fit for the tractor. No sign of that nasty white stuff either. Must of been a quick melt.

I'll be spraying as much of my fields as possible, but some of the banks are so steep I might be using the spray gun too. The main concern is Spotted and Russion Knapweed which are classified as noxious weeds in Montana. I have both on my property. Knapweed was introduced to the state as a source of pollen for bees but it turns out that it kills just about every other plant around it, and animals won't eat it.

I'll be using Milestone which is Aminopyralid because it's supposed to be one of the most effective herbicides to use for the control of Knapweed. I'll be spraying in a few weeks, and again in the fall. After that I might be able to spray once a year for couple of years, and then maybe every other year. Time will tell.

Yes, I think it is although it'll be interesting to run around with about 2,000 lb on the rear of the tractor when the tank is full. The snow only lasted a few days and now it's back in the high 50s and low 60s and gorgeous.

Curious on your plan of actually using it ... As when I spray I like to be able to turn the nozzles on and off, or switch to the spray wand ... So I only used the wand ... But open station and small tractor means I can reach it from the seat.

I used my 65 gallon one Thursday to spray the fence line ...

But when I sprayed my fields I used 24D ... (Tested with water though!)
