Well these are over a few days- but it’s my first spring with her! The 2601 is proving to be the Goldie locks size for the property. I’m really happy with it.

cleared some brush with my Temu Garvee rake- It did pretty well for $130 rake! lol. It goes in the hitch of the ballast box so it can dig the tines in a bit if need be with 800lbs of concrete on it. I’m going to replant this area for pollinators- there is a poweline easement so i can’t return it to woods. But I can fill it with clover and milkweed and such.
Teaching my son to operate it, he’s pretty stoked.

watching the river one evening from her.

very happy with her thus far.
I had to look that up, what a stupid website! Looks like I would need a much larger tractor:

I forgot to mention in my previous post that I changed the outer air filter on the M6060. I also squeezed greased into all 19 zerk fittings on the front end of the tractor. My recent hand surgery meant that the DeWalt battery powered grease gun would earn its keep, but as expected, I had red Mobil 1 grease in it so had to default to a manual grease gun loaded up with the appropriate Kubota loader grease. :sneaky:

Bit of a $hit show last night trying to get up the new mud driveway with 20,000 lb of tractor and trailer. It was dry as a bone on Friday and Saturday but it turned into the Somme yesterday! 😳 I tried backing up onto solid ground but that went sideways both figuratively and literally. With the trailer blocking the common gravel driveway the adage "solve the problem in front of you" kept playing in my head.

I must have walked up to the house and back down to the truck/trailer 20 times last night but managed to get the tractor unloaded, and then disconnected the trailer. I was able to slide the truck onto better ground and then drive back down to the trailer and reconnect at 90° to the neck. With the truck finally getting traction it was an easy job to get back on the common driveway and pull the trailer up through the field to the house.

If I take any comfort in this, it's that I didn't break anything, and that I don't believe any truck out there could have succeeded in pulling 20,000 lb up that muddy hill. Sometimes it doesn't matter what equipment you have.

So in keeping with the English story "Goldilocks and the Three Bears" you must have tried two larger tractors at the property and found them to be less than ideal. 😂 Please provide details on those tractors.

I think you should have put the truck on the trailer and pull it with the tractor :giggle:
I did think about putting the pallet forks on the M6060 with the 2-5/16" ball and seeing if I could move the trailer up to the house that way. It was my least favorite option to be honest. Thankfully I didn't need to try that.

The ball is at the end of one of the tines, and the trailer weighs 7,000 lb, so that would be a lot of tongue weight on a tine that's 4ft from the pin. Yeah, not a good idea.

Yea the website is horrible. The products Aren't all that great. But for some things it works well. The Ballast box I got for $150, the branded ones are what 3-4x that. its a metal 800lbs of cement is 800lbs of cement. But yes not a great site for most things frankly. But for some stuff if you can deal with the terrible site is a good buy. But yea some of their pics like the one above is are a hoot! lol

Well if I were to keep true to story wouldn't it be I tried one bigger and one smaller? Wasn't it one borage was too hot and one too cold? :)

Well not quite.. I wasn't able to test run rigs. But endless hours researching and talking with folks on here I went for it thinking it sounded right- I think it was :).

I can confidently say with my property I would not want any larger. Any larger and it would be awkward, and likely too heavy. It definitely is pushing it size wise to mow, even with turf tires I have to be very careful turning, my soil is kind of sandy-ish. That is why I was glad the tires weren't filled and I got the ballast box for FEL work, so when mowing I can make her as light as possible. I will be shrinking my yard- re-wilding a lot though, and doing a bee lawn where I leave lawn, so I won't be manicuring, so it should work as I'm hoping once the bee lawn is in to only mow a few times a summer, or if I cut the yard down too much I'll just get a small mower. I can see what folks told me about the MMM- is it certainly neuters it as a tractor when its on. But I'm glad I have it to get me started, being the property is new to me to, so I can figure out what I need or want as time goes.

So even though any bigger and it wouldn't be able to be driven in the yard much, I like having it as my "yard dog" , Also theres decent distance to travel around from front to back and such so it lives in "Med range" I can't imagine having only L and H range. But with the tasks I've been doing, and still have on the to do list - I can't imagine having much smaller of a unit either, as I do have a lot of clean up to do in the woods and such so the clearance is nice. It snow blows like a beast which is great as I have a long drive. I need to refresh my gravel drive, and probably going to do some brush hogging once to clear up some woods edges so I can replant for pollinators and wildlife... Need to add some more hydraulics for a log splitter maybe and I'd like a grapple but trying to watch my funds right now.

So that is why I feel I found the goldilocks size for my particular property.

Nope. In the original story by Robert Southey it's the smallest bear's porridge, chair and bed that are just right. 😂

I got one of these ordered ... 5000/20000 Lb rated ... https://www.bellprecisiontool.com/product-page/3-point-gooseneck-trailer-mover made in Tennessee!
I have a King Kutter version that I bought for $50 from the guy who sold me the Land Pride SB1574 snow blower back in September of 2021 . I've never used it to move the gooseneck trailer yet. I'd need to modify it to work with the QH20 since I don't really want to move the trailer with the MX6000. If there was a way to have the trailer brakes work then maybe, but I'd rather have the much bigger, heavier and more capable M6060 pulling the 7,000 lb trailer.

I'm not a fan of that unsupported riser on the model you show.

Well, since I don't even have a gooseneck trailer, I'll probably never use that feature, but looking at yours, I can see what you mean!

But wouldn't be too hard to add ...

That Photoshop hitch is a first for me. Looks like whoever generated that picture made the rake about 200% size compared to the tractor.
No kidding…LOL…I really like all those tines and appears to leave just two really deep furrows.

looks like it would be easy to hook up though…no pins or turn buckles to deal with. 😂

Mowed for the first time this spring with the 2601. The neighbor has had cows next to me since December so as spring comes I get some fertilizer and a early start to mowing season.

Saw the left steering ball joint failure while moving dirt to fill raised garden beds. Now I'm hunting fastest parts availability for both left and right because if the left one was this bad, the right one cant be much better.

Had the stump grinder on from a few days ago when I removed a stump from a dead apple tree in front of the house. Before taking it off today, remembered there were two small stumps in the field with trees adjacent to the public road that I’d planned on removing next time I had the stump grinder on the tractor. Took them out, then removed the stump grinder. IMG_8375.jpeg Took it off to pick up on the auger rehab project that stalled due to needing a PTO shaft with a hole in it. This thing came in today’s mail. Unfortunately, it fit like it was made with a worn out broach. Would start but only go on about 1/2”. 30 minutes of fiddling with a Dremel and it’s about 1/8” shy of going on far enough to lock in the groove but it’s still too tight. Had to stop for dinner. Another 30 minutes or so should get it functional. If not, I do have the option to return it, but I’d prefer it work. IMG_8378.jpeg

Took the snowblower off and parked it by the shop for pre-storage clean and touchup.

Put the hydraulic top link and box blade on and took a swipe at the driveway. WAY too wet for anything resembling finish grade, but drug the high spots into the mudhole. If I can catch a week or so of dry weather and sunshine I can do it right.

While I was puttering, I dressed up the neighbor's crushed rock parking area. Plow guy did the best he could dragging it back but there was still a pretty good berm around the edges. Back when I had a plow truck I wouldn't touch a crushed rock drive. If you plowed deep enough to get all the snow they'd b!tch about you pushing rock into the grass and if you lifted enough to keep the rock in the drive they'd b!tch about leaving too much snow.

Punched one hole and set a post after work today. I’ll hang the 16’ gate tomorrow and set another two. Didn’t get as deep as I wanted to so I’ll set a post behind this one and brace it to prevent sag. The 2501 will push a 18” bit till you hit rock and really hard pack clay 34” down. 😬
