Had a great day logging spruce from the plantation to make way for the shop. Had my son off on spring break to help.

And then, this happens...

It's punctured through. Air is coming out. No ballast fluid in the tire.

Any recommendation for on-site repair? Any special considerations?

Will call some local shops tomorrow.

Wow, that would take all 50 tire plugs for now, then an interior patch or tube later, but that's going to leave a high possible contamination hole, I look forward to the other responses. Tire looks newer.

That tire will need to come off and be patched. Some mobile repair services could do it on site.

Kubota sells a “magic tire sealant” that claims to be able to stop large punctures.

Not sure if it would work, but it might be worth a try.

They “claim” it works up to 5/8” diameter ….which it appears you might be approaching.

On a side note……….

Your picture looks like me “praying to God” that I don't hit my cottage just before I cut that tree down 5 years ago…..hahahahah

Industrial tire plugs. They are made for bigger tires than plugging auto tires. We used to have tires on our 3 payloaders and 2 backhoes repaired that way if the punctures weren’t too large. It takes a large tool to install and it may not perfectly repair, but might seal enough to get you out of the woods.

Ouch.

Remove wheel tire and take to tire shop that knows how to repair AG tires.

This, folks, is yet another reason to avoid liquid ballast.

“Runs with Scissors” is a really Like-able Guy. His opinions are …well…. mostly good.

But We All have momentary failures. (my wife says so.)

DO NOT PUT ANY KIND OF GOOP in that tire if you want to save that tire.

I actually like a particular brand of goop for preventive, anti-thorn puncutes….but THAT ain’t no Thorn !”

Have it properly patched …. which no self-respecting shop will do if you place Goop in it.

Otherwise, a tube….or a new tire. Or two. Or four , since it’s 4WD and the others are worn as much as this one.

NO GOOP. Not even temporarily unless you want to complicate your life further.
