Best connectors I've seen are the German "Deutsch Connectors"
I've owned a few BMW bikes over the years and the wiring/connectors and engineering is heads and tails above Japanese and USA tech.
Ahem... Deutsch was founded in California and is now part of TE connectivity.

I like the SAE connectors because under excessive stress they pull apart instead of what happens with locking connectors (something breaking). BUT, I do like the idea of better connectors like the ones you chose for lighting and such where the connector is generally fixed. Thanks for the recommendation!

The ones I ordered are basically the Deutsch style. I'm not going to be connecting and disconnecting the battery charger from both tank pumps very often so I'm not concerned about the connectors being overly robust. I'll take easy over robust for this application.

Here's the link to the connectors I ordered.

I don't know if I would have chosen that style for frequent connnections and connections made under load- they weren't designed for that. The Anderson SB50 connector would be ideal for this. Contacts are available for 12AWG.

Here's a knockoff example- https://www.amazon.com/Micrl-Disconnect-Electrical-Connector-Recovery/dp/B09WRLBZFY?th=1

The 10 AWG contacts are for 12-10 AWG wire. https://www.andersonpower.com/us/en...ver-plated-wire-contacts-12-to-10-awg-bk.html

When I was a kid, Aircraft Marine Products had plants in Elizabethtown and Mount Joy. They were referred to as "Aircraft Marine" by the locals back then and were considered to be a better employer than the other places at the time - shoe factory, feed mill, tobacco warehouse, etc. Later they combined into one new plant in Mount Joy and became "AMP". For a while they were TYCO and most recently TE Connectivity. Old brochure:

But it's not for frequent connecting and disconnecting and certainly not made under load.

AMP had plants all over south central Pennsylvania. It is a shame that we lost nearly all of it. I did a lot of work in the connector industry and some of it was for AMP.

My bad. I read this and assumed you were swapping batteries/chargers/pumps in and out frequently and there was no mention of using a switch to disable the power before making the connections.

I just ordered two sets of the connectors shown below with 12 ga wire. I don't care for the SAE connectors despite having lots of them for the three battery tenders that I use. They're not ideal for connectors that are repeatedly connected and disconnected. I'm not saying that the ones below are perfect either, but they're much easier to connect and disconnect, and they're waterproof, not that it matters much.

I just want an easy way to connect the modified DeWalt battery charger and battery to the pumps of either JohnDow storage tank, while making it easy to also connect the factory alligator clips if needed so that I can connect to a car/truck battery or similar. I like options.

It wasn't just AMP. There were many companies that employed a lot of people in our area. Of course many of the jobs were in manufacturing. Some were like Armstrong, Grinnell and RCA that were household names beyond the immediate area. There were also many other factories, foundries, furniture and shoe manufacturers, etc. It was a blessing to work for some of them and almost a curse to work for others. My stepdad retired from Armstrong and had good benefits for him and mom till they died. To get employment at some of the good places you had to know somebody.

Others not so much. I worked in a foundry while attending high school and they would hire anyone. One of the molders frequently went for a liquid lunch on Friday and didn't return till Monday. The company tolerated his behavior because not a lot of people wanted to work there.

Between here and Harrisburg there was Steelton, home to Pennsylvania Steel/Bethlehem/etc. I still recall the smoke and smell while driving through the town. Seemed like there would be no end to all the hustle and bustle. Then old timers started grousing about all that "Japanese junk" starting to show up. At first a lot of it was junk. Remember the first Honda (car)? Things have changed since then.

I do remember the N600, personally I think it's far superior to the VW Beetle. (The N600 market research car resulted in the Honda Civic production car.) Thank you for bringing back great memories!
