BX23S 12v accessory plug live?

I'm about to take delivery of a new BX23S and I would like to set it up for a battery tender.

I'm wondering if the 12v accessory plug left of the seat is directly wired to the battery, or is it wired to the ignition?

If it's live to the battery, I'm kind of in favor of using that to tend the battery opposed to an sae connector wired to battery. (See attached).

I don't have an issue wiring a traditional sae connector to the battery, but I'd be keen to see if the 12v accessory would work.

Thank you in advance.

Ask your dealer.

But, direct to battery terminals will supply more efficient power than a cigarette plug everytime.

It's keyed ! Key on..power's there, key off, no electrons.
I have a Garmin GPS plugged in there...it's my onboard clock.

Kubota does have live power on a 'bullet' connector, blue taped, top left of top link area.

Thank you very much, I appreciate the info! Looks like I'll wire an sae connector to the battery.

I'm considering wiring up a 220w switched led work light on the rops to that blue taped wire you mentioned. I believe its a 20A fuse. Should make the wiring a little bit more tidy.

Thanks again!

Same idea, SeaPro, proof that great minds think alike. How did you make out? Thank you!

For a battery tender, I wired direct to battery and ran the connector wire out the side of the BX25 console (left side). The battery tender just gets plugged in when parked. The wire from the battery has a "waterproof" cap to cover the connector, so in summer I just cap it. Both wires use the "standard" 2 pin trailer type of connector

You purchase a 2-prong connector that will mount on the tractor side. Can then plug and unplug from a tender as needed. I use one on both my BX tractors and XG sidekick sxs.

Unless you have accessory lighting on your tractor, there is minimal draw on the battery, since diesel engines don't require electrical power except to start and for the stop solenoid. Most Kubota BX owners have had the original factory battery for close to a decade. A lot different than a gasoline engine tractor.

I have my tender wired direct to battery. Cable end lives above radiator screen. If my hood is open, the charger is plugged in. That way I won't do something stupid like driving off with it plugged in! Also, I replaced my original battery this spring, almost made it 10years.

I had an BX1880, that I wire to the left side of the instrument column, that worked fine. Using SAE connector i purchase the one that connect directly to battery. I worked fine until I sold the tractor and bought the upgrade BX2380. This time i decided to wire in the battery tender just below the rops, where there is a 12volt connection waiting for hookup. I have placed rops light above and ran the wiring down to the SAE connection. This way I can use the SAE as a feed for the Rops, and an input for the battery tender. I find out that the tractor starts easy in very cold weather, with a well charged battery vs having to have a heat plug in.

Never had a battery tender, but everything I own has a "flat two" trailer type connector. Primary use is for powering the 12V fuel pump for filling up. Also use them for temporary lighting, portable fuel pump, 12V extraction pump, etc. In your case it could also be used for the tender.

EDIT TO ADD: With the flat two, polarity is always correct, unlike using alligator clips.
