Bit bummed. The Noco Genius 5 purchased last late November for the truck stopped working. Stuck in standby mode. Cannot even switch it into force mode. Checked probably every possible cause. Fuse, connecting cable, contact surface condition, connection to battery, battery voltage.... Finally tried the spare set of Noco branded alligator connectors. No go. Last check was I switched it out with the Genius 5 that is attached to the BX's battery. No go. Still stuck in standby mode and mode button is unresponsive even after holding it down for over 30 seconds. Guessing it is a voltage sensor or some other electronic component that has gone bad.
Submitted a warranty request to Noco. Relatively fast initial response (one working day). They basically outline trying everything I did and noted on the warranty request. Since then. Nothing for Noco. The maybe good is I also submitted to Amazon a return request for a defective product. They accepted. But pending their determination for full, partial, or no credit/refund. Window for return closes in a few day. Waiting to here from Noco until close to that date. Worst case if returned to Amazon is it will be one less piece of garbage at our regional landfill.
Now a days with who knows what type of QC no matter where a product is manufactured products of marginal quality slip through. Anyone ever submit a warranty claim at Noco? Or is their 3 year warranty pretty much BS?
